I’m one of the first people who would pretentiously rant about sticking to ‘authentic’ restaurants while you travel, but this place easily makes me admit that sometimes you really just need a good sandwich.
The sandwiches were absolutely divine, shockingly large, surprisingly low-priced (around €7-8, whereas in the USA these would go for at least $14), and were brought to us quite fast despite how busy they were on a Friday afternoon! (Plus, they had the perfect bread to meat to fillings ratio, which is somehow difficult to find nowadays!)
One of the biggest bonuses for us, personally, was the atmosphere! The inside is cozy and tastefully decorated, and the music they played was smooth, non-intrusive jazz lo-fi; my partner and I often have issues with restaurants playing very loud, overstimulating music and having a noisy environment, but this was absolutely perfect.
Honestly, I can’t even bring myself to care that literally everyone in there was a tourist; this place was incredible and I highly recommend it for an afternoon pick me up after fighting through the crowds at...
Read moreAfter seeing this restaurant was very high on user ratings on TripAdvisor I decided to add it to my to visit list for my trip to Rome. Upon research I saw that it is very close to the Vatican so I decided to visit the Vatican first and cone to Bono Bottega after our tour. Upon entrance after a very tiring 3 hours walking round the Vatican we were very pleased to be seated quickly and our order taken quickly also. I had a pulled pork, ndjua sausage and mozarella sandwich and my husband opted for the prawn sandwich. Both were nice but there could have been slightly more Ndjua in mine. We did enjoy the sandwiches but found nearly 30 euros for two sandwiches, two cokes and two small cannolis quite pricey. I would recommend for a quick sandwich if your in the area. However I wouldn't say that it was worth the 5 stars it has been awarded and perhaps more like 4. However I do recommend coming and trying the...
