At first the restaurant looks really good as a place and at a main street in Trastevere. We saw the critics and ratings and decided to give it a chance. The two carbonaras (10 euros each )we ordered were the worst we had in Rome. The sauce was more like an omelet (rookie mistake) and not creamy as carbonara should be and they were also acompanied with a weird smell. The cacio e pepe was also not good because the sauce was so watery. The amatriciana did not have any type of meat inside and didn't taste well. My secondi costed 15 euros and was ossobuco with mushhrooms (boletus edulis aka porcini) but when it came i noticed they were champignon mushrooms which may also be canned mushrooms but I'm not sure. I asked the waiter if these are porcini mushrooms as it said on the menu and he casually answered not they are champignon. The meat was not really tender and it gave me the idea that it was reheated in the microwave. We even heard the microwave's characteristic bling sound. Another one of my friends ordered a veal stake (18 euros) and came a plate with a small piece of meat with 1/4 of a lemon and nothing else. The pasta was not handmade. We also ordered two botles of dry red wine of the house (9 euros per bottle ) which was not anything special but i mean it was just red wine with nine euros. On the good side the salumi plateau from the antipasti was ok and the toilets were clean. From December until today i have visited Bologna, Parma, Milan, Como, bellagio, varena, Genova, Luka, Pizza, Nevri, Camogli and now Rome and i have to say this was the one and only time the critics and ratings were wrong. After that we felt like we just got out of a tourist trap which is not cheaper than most restaurants either. It happens that i know a thing or two about wild mushrooms as collect some edible species that have gastronomical interest but anyone who has seen or eaten a boletus even once will know from the first glance that these were not what they were advertised to be. It was a real shame because it was our last meal in Rome and we were really hungry because we had walked a lot. I hope this critic helps other travelers. Tip: prefer to give like two or three euros more to eat a proper carbonara. It's worth it. Of course you can find much better even lower...
Read moreI've heard such raving reviews about the delicious food in Trastevere. So one night I decided to take a taxi and check it out for myself. When I arrived this was the first restaurant I saw so I decided to give it a try. When I walked in there was absolutely no one in the restaurant. The servers were all sitting down having dinner. I asked if they were open and they said yes. They seated me in the very back of the restaurant tucked away in a corner. It took awhile for the waiter to come take my order and when he did he just seemed a bit annoyed. Not the service I've been used to since I've been visiting in Rome. After ordering my meal I waited maybe another 10 minutes and my food was brought right out which was nice! The food was pretty good despite the horrible service. I am sure Trastevere has much better service I just picked the wrong spot! I won't go back. If you go hopefully you're experience in regards to service...
Read moreEverything was dirty. My dish was chipped, the pasta made me sick and the prices where super expensive. Not to mention the waiters were sitting outside smoking and were very rude. We ended up going to La Cassetta di Trastevere which was amazing! Even if the dish of Rigatoni Democratici everyone writes its amazing and raves about it, I didn’t find anything special infact it tasted old. Don’t recommend it. I have no idea how this place has more than 2 stars and is still open. They didn’t even ask for our information for Covid purposes, isn’t that against the law? Anyways, don’t come here for your own good. The picture looks good because I have a great camera. Take this info from two foodies that take many things into consideration. Sadly are very...
