The food was delightful, however the younger evening staff seemed very judgmental towards us as tourists. I felt we were very polite, I even worked to try and speak Italian to which I was met with distaste in my attempt. But unfortunately the older gentleman was the only nice individual I encountered. The other staff kept shooting us glares, talked about us getting two bottles of wine, and while I was asking about dessert I feel like I may have made the gentleman feel rushed when I was just trying to communicate, because he returned me asking for the menu with a heavily sarcastic, "yeah. I know." , and both the woman servers gave off extremely hostile vibes that I rarely ever pick up on. When my mother decided to pay, to which at the point she'd also picked up on the hostility, she was met with equal hostility from the female staff. I do apologize for my grandmother placing her receipt in her dish, as it was only done out of frustration for the hostile energy we were given by the staff. They do not seem to appreciate American tourists. Regardless of...
Read moreI saw this place while walking around the neighborhood during the day and decided to have dinner there that evening since it's off the main road, hoping it would be a great dinner. It all started fine and dandy until I got served the saddest looking Neapolitan pizza and my wife got the oxtail dish (it was good). The table around us got served bread in a basket (they ordered almost the same) but we got a couple slices of bread on a plate. We also didn't get a good vibe from the old man as opposed to what most reviewers say about him. We also felt like we weren't welcome there since we just walked in.
For some reason it also took a long time to get our bill settled. The restaurant wasn't so busy but we felt like we were the least of their worries. The reviews about the staff not very attentive and will give eye-rolls are real. I didn't enjoy my...
Read moreIf I could rate this restaurant more than 5/5, I definetly would. We didn’t plan to go to this restaurant but our hotel receptionist told us to go there because we arrived late in Rome with our flight and it was near to the hotel. We honestly had the best experience of our entire trip in this place. The food was tremendously good (especially the gnocchi Caccio e Pepe). We never had such a heart-warming experience in any other place. We liked this restaurant so much that we came twice in our 3 days trip in Rome. To anyone who read this, please try Casa Sceppa because the food is so good and the people are so nice. You’ll never be desapointed. Big up to the waiter whose I don’t know the name, you definitely made our...
