I stayed at the Hotel Gravina San Pietro in Rome with my son for 5 nights end of June, I was shocked that directly behind my hotel room/bathroom windows, there were huge amounts of building works taking place during my stay, they started work around 07:00 and finished around 15:00 on average, making large amounts of noise with drilling/hammering/moving huge engineering parts etc, this is a huge site covering the entire rear of the hotel with foundations going down about 30 feet, my balcony was literally dangling over the site (see pictures attached). There were workmen constantly building there during the day, at the exact height of our room that they were working on, so they could see directly into our room (one bedroom and bathroom they could see directly into), so we had absolutely no privacy and could not have our curtains open or use the balcony. ||As stated, this was a huge site and they were months (years???) into the work from what I could see (with Years of work to go), there was no mention of any building work at this hotel/grounds or on the expedia site where I booked or on the hotel website. If I would have known there was building work at the hotel site, I would have not booked this hotel, we were woken up very early at 07:00'ish everyday of our holiday by the workmen and then had no provacy in our room and had to keep the curtains shut, this ruined our holiday.|||The staff were friendly and helpful, if it was not for this building work I would have given a much better review.||I would not recommend this hotel for anyone who wants any quiet/peace due to the building work...
Read moreI recently stayed at Hotel Gravina San Pietro and unfortunately had a very disappointing experience.
First Room: The first room I was given was unclean, with noticeable issues. The bathroom had a hole in the ceiling, allowing me to see into the ceiling of the room above. Additionally, the showerhead was malfunctioning and didn’t rinse water properly. Due to these issues, I requested a room change.
Second Room: The new room presented even more challenges. It was located next to a construction site that began noisy work at 7:00 AM on January 7th. The room itself was dirty, and the duvet provided was stained, torn, and had a strong, unpleasant odor. The shower had mold, and the shower door was broken, falling twice during use, which was both inconvenient and unsafe. The replacement duvet was cleaner in appearance but had a faint smell of urine. Furthermore, the windows were of poor quality, allowing humidity to seep into the room.
Buffet Experience: The service at the breakfast buffet was subpar. A staff member removed plates from my table without asking if we were finished, which felt abrupt and unprofessional.
Overall Experience: The overall experience was far below expectations, especially considering the cost of the stay. The cleanliness, room conditions, and service were unsatisfactory. I would not recommend this hotel and feel it was not worth the...
Read moreWe stayed at Hotel Gravina San Pietro from August 25th to September 4th, and it was truly a memorable experience. The location is unbeatable, just a 10-minute walk from St. Peter’s Basilica and Castel Sant’Angelo, making it extremely convenient to explore Rome. Additionally, the San Pietro train station is only 100 meters away, providing easy access from the airport.||From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by Vito, who was very attentive and helpful. For us, the most important features were the in-room safe box and air conditioning. The room and bed were very comfortable, spotless, and also had a small refrigerator and coffee maker. We truly enjoyed our stay.||The staff was incredibly friendly and assisted us with everything we needed. We especially want to highlight Vito, who guided us with so much care, as well as Max and Andrea, who were also very helpful.
