I picked this restaurant for a romantic dinner with my wife. Beautiful view, promising start â what could go wrong?
We ordered tartare, pasta with the fish of the day, and a couple of glasses of wine. Tartare came quickly, pasta⊠well, apparently it was being caught, cleaned, and educated in fine dining before arriving at our table â 45 minutes later.
By then the restaurant was almost empty, so I asked for the bill. Ten minutes later (yes, later), the pasta finally appeared. I politely declined, explaining that I donât eat pasta after 10 p.m. and certainly not after waiting nearly an hour.
Instead of an apology, the waiter decided to give me a cultural masterclass on âhow pasta is eaten in Italy,â with a subtle implication that Iâm from some culinary backwater where we eat wrong.
Romantic evening successfully ruined. If youâre into long waits, unsolicited lectures, and a side of condescension â this is your spot. Otherwise, save your time...

After asking why, staff could not regurgitate a coherent and logical answer as to why not, regarding half of the tables on the terrace were unoccupied and not reserved. Staff aggressively trying hard to sell the menu without even recommending whatâs on the menu, as a proper introduction to the menu should be for a place that would like to have the status they absolutely do not have. In the end one of us (4 people) ordered a steak tartar that was underwhelming in a price-quality ratio. THE ONLY AMAZING THING THIS PLACE HAS IS THEIR ESPRESSO AND THE SANDWICH GUYS NEXT DOOR!!! So my one star is totally adequate and justified by this. It is truly delicious and in the end quite worth the fight with the smeary staff!! 10/10 would come back to annoy them for an espresso to go. Everything else is a no-go! Chi...
Read moreOne street away from the Pantheon in Maddelena piazza. Did enjoy this Restaurant with its slight fawlty tower waiter. More Basil than Manuel. Order the business lunch for that light afternoon meal. We did and thoroughly enjoyed it. That will cost about 15 Euros each and includes a large bottle of water, Not too heavy for those hot days sight seeing. The lemon chicken was good as was the salmon. 2 courses included in this price. You can sit and see the beautiful business Romans passing through from the outside tables and also those going in the Gelateria San Crispino.Didn't try this one but it did look chic.. Piazza della Maddalena, 3,...
