Mater est.2022 — Restaurant in Rome

I cannot find enough great things to say about this fabulous and unassuming little restaurant. We were originally drawn in by the super friendly welcome we received by the hostess Anna and server Ariana! The value for the money to have an aperativo and little slice of pizzas is unrivaled. They selected four different pizzas for us all of which were delicious. Having a table outside with the light spritz of cooling mist from above was incredibly refreshing.

HOWEVER... the most incredible experience was returning back to Rome a week later and being recognized immediately off the street and welcomed with a big hug by hostess Anna made us feel incredibly welcomed like we were coming home! The decor of the restaurant is modern and attractive. My favorite pizza is their squash blossom and anchovy which rivaled the best pizzas that I have sampled across Italy in the last 3 weeks. Their crust is light and crispy and just perfectly baked. Hard to describe how perfect until you try it yourself!

The food and drink is Top Notch but it was really the SERVICE and being recognized a week later walking on the street that really differentiates the staff and restaurant above the others! My highest recommendation for an apparativo and a few slices of delicious pizza in the...

They do excellent pizza & burgers. Rated as some of the best street food in Rome.

We recommend booking in advance as it’s always super busy, chances are you’ll be sitting outside unless you booked as it’s almost always full on the inside.

If you’re looking for a good juicy burger, this is your place, as far as we know it’s the best burger in Rome. They’re on par with the quality of international burgers and they’re in Rome city centre? Impressive.

We recommend the MAMAMIA Burger, it’s superb. A thick juicy patty, layered with bbq sauce, cheese, bacon & an onion ring. Complete with ketchup, homemade mayo & crispy fries. Indulge in this one and you won’t regret it.

There is a large variety of starters to get you going and they offer a fair selection of good quality drinks. The pizza is also outstanding & attracts many people from around the city.

Just off the busy Maddelina Piazza this Pizza restaurant was half full so we gave it a try. Service to start was excellent and attentive. 1st we ordered Zucchini Flowers which just were not edible we both had a small bite of 1 each but that was enough. We called the main which was Seafood Linguine- this was very very nice the only criticism would be the calamari was like rubber and over cooked. Other than that we had a couple of beers and a couple of glasses of wine. We had asked 3 times for the bill and after waiting 10min or so went inside to pay. The guy seemed a bit shitty we didn't want to tip. But given the prices and quality of what we received I definitely didn't want to tip. We had eaten at 2 other places in Rome and ordered more food , drank more wine and it was same price as here and we shared 1 main and shared 1 starter which was not edible and nothing like any Zucchini flower id ever...
