We ordered a grilled lobster (€50), grilled mixed vegetables, and a large sea bass. The sea bass was slightly overcooked but still edible. The grilled mixed vegetables, as shown in the photo, had several pieces that were quite burnt, which made them unpleasant to eat.
The real issue, however, was the lobster. As soon as it arrived, I noticed a strong, chemical-like smell—very pungent and off-putting. I tried to give it the benefit of the doubt, thinking maybe it was just the way it was prepared, so I squeezed some lemon on it to cut the smell. But after tasting it, I realized the lobster was bad. It had that unmistakable acidic, toxic taste that comes from seafood that is no longer fresh. I’ve had lobster many times before, and I know what fresh lobster should taste like and this wasn’t it.
I called the waiter over and explained that the lobster smelled and tasted toxic. He insisted it had arrived fresh that morning and that the strange flavour was just their grilling style. He said that he tasted it himself and said there was nothing wrong with it. I found this response dismissive and unhelpful. A fresh lobster should never smell or taste that way, regardless of the cooking method.
Unfortunately, after eating just a small portion, I became sick about an hour later. The next day, I developed a sore throat, fever, and other symptoms of food poisoning. While they did remove the lobster from the bill, they never acknowledged that it might have been spoiled. Instead, the waiter implied that I simply didn’t appreciate their style of cooking, which is absolutely not the case as the lobster was clearly unfit to eat.
That said, I noticed this restaurant has a lot of good reviews, so maybe they’re better at making other dishes like pasta or pizza. I didn’t try those, so I can’t comment. But based on my experience, I definitely wouldn’t recommend the grilled...
Read moreOur experience at this Italian restaurant was nothing short of exceptional—from the first warm greeting to the very last bite. The atmosphere strikes a perfect balance between elegance and comfort, offering a beautiful space that feels both refined and welcoming.
We came as a group and indulged in a generous variety of pastas, each showcasing the kitchen’s commitment to authenticity and technique. The house pasta was rich and satisfying, setting the stage for what would be a truly memorable meal. The gnocchi were light and pillowy, the kind that simply melts in your mouth. The carbonara was perfectly executed—silky, savory, and deeply flavorful. The spaghetti and meatballs delivered on every level, with a hearty, slow-simmered sauce and tender, well-seasoned meatballs. The risotto was perfectly creamy and al dente, layered with subtle, complex flavors. The rigatoni was robust and rustic, while the fettuccine was rich and buttery, finished with fresh herbs that added the perfect touch of brightness.
But beyond the food, what made this meal truly unforgettable was the service. Every staff member we encountered was friendly, helpful, and extremely professional—attentive without being intrusive, and genuinely passionate about what they do.
A special shoutout must go to Ibra, our waiter, who was absolutely phenomenal. His knowledge of the menu, timing, warmth, and effortless ability to make us feel cared for took our experience to another level. We all agreed he’s hands-down the best waiter we’ve ever had. If you're planning a visit, do yourself a favor and ask for Ibra—you’ll be glad you did.
From start to finish, this was more than just dinner—it was an experience rooted in Italian tradition, elevated by outstanding service and unforgettable flavors. Highly recommended for any occasion worth...
Read moreI was down by the Pantheon area in the morning and decided to grab something to eat nearby - originally planning to go somewhere else, but they didn't open for a short while, so I decided to stop in here after seeing review scores (4.7). Like some other reviewers, I really don't quite understand the high reviews. The food was okay - I ordered the mixed salad and fettuccine sagrestana (with artichoke, bacon, pecorino). The salad was large and was mostly radicchio and what appeared to be iceberg lettuce. I think one piece of a carrot and one piece of celery was in there. Plenty of tomatoes though and black olives. Nothing too special though. The fettucine was tasty, and was served quite hot ( I had to let it cool awhile as it burned my mouth on the first attempt to try it). There was a lot of unrendered fat in the bacon, enough so that about 2/3 of the bacon in the dish was just large slabs of wet white gristle/fat, not crispy and meaty bacon. I put that aside. It tasted fine and was an ample portion otherwise. My server was basic, not really smiling much or exuding friendliness, while another server at other tables was very outgoing and interacting with patrons. Server can certainly influence the experience. It was amusing to observe two of the servers try to flirt with the Chinese girl at the table next to me. Anyway, I regretted not going to the original restaurant I had planned on. Chairs were not very comfortable. The bathroom appeared very clean, so that is a good sign towards cleanliness overall if you choose...
