The service here is amazing, there are only a few waiters but they do an excellent job and explain every dish that you receive. This has really good value to food, everything is fairly priced and when the dish comes you're surprised it isn't more expensive - you can tell that they care about what they cook, and not just charging you for a pretty plate (although they are well presented). Me and my family came here twice in our 4-night stay in Rome and we're glad we did, easily one of the highlights of our stay. The first time we came we didn't do a tasting menu but ordered different things, the next time we did the create your own, and I definitely wanted there to be more by the time the pudding came. The scallops (if you eat them) are a must have. Perfectly cooked both times we had them and the accompanying purées and sauces pair perfectly. The cacio e pepe risotto was also a particular highlight, and we cleaned the plate within 2 minutes of it arriving. The bread and salted butter that they give you before your first dish comes is homemade. Simple, but delicious. And the bread they give you when your course arrives is also very good and brilliant for soaking up all the flavours and sauce left on your plate. The first time we came was a Saturday, so understandably busy, but the atmosphere is so great that you don't even mind the small wait. It's cosy and just what you need after your long day like we had. To sum up: we'll definitely be going next time...
Read moreWe came here on our last night in Rome & it was a fitting end to our holiday here. Tucked away down a lane with steps up to Monti, it has a modern vibe with a choice of music in jazz that is not to everyone's liking (tone down the James Brown please!) and not in keeping with the superb Michelin-vying cuisine and black uniformed professional waitress service they are trying hard to emulate. The food was extraordinary. Pasta, polpo, scallops, fish, all cooked to perfection and plated artistically. Their home-made bread and amuse-bouche arancini & truffles at the end were exceptional too. We had a lovely evening - it was quiet with few other tables occupied, despite a crowded Rome packed with tourist. I suspect they could come across as pricey but no more than any other more established restaurants like Alfredo alla Scrofa or Luciano Cucina (both we visited too) but without the crazy crowds & queues. I recommend coming here to avoid the crowds and spend a pleasant evening with good food and wine. The service was almost perfect but just needed a bit more polish if they wish to obtain a Michelin star....
Read moreI can’t say enough about this outstanding restaurant. There are many overrated places in Rome that seem to bribe their way to a five-star rating, but I can assure you that's not the case here. This is a must-visit for anyone looking for a truly special and different dining experience.
The restaurant has a gastro-level quality without being pretentious in the slightest. Everything we had was outstanding, from the raw shrimps that melted in my mouth, to a very tender piece of beef that was audaciously but perfectly paired with a fig gravy. The fantastic lemon and basil pie was the perfect ending to the meal. We especially appreciated that everything, including the bread, was homemade.
The attention to detail and outstanding service truly set this place apart. Our waitress gave great wine recommendations, and we were delighted by little attentions like the mise en bouche and chocolates at the end. For a special occasion or just a fantastic meal, this is the place to go in Rome.
Grazie Mille for making us...
