After four weeks in France and Italy, Sciuè Sciuè Cucina served us the best three course meal we’d had all trip.
We started with King Prawns with Panko bread, on a bed of zucchini cream. 13 € for three good sized prawns. Delicious.
Main meals
Lamb cutlets in Panko (yes again, but so delicious), with turnip greens, pine seeds, olives, and provola cheese milk. 20 € for two sensational cutlets.
Beef fillet with honey mustard, spinach, and shaved Parmesan cheese. 25 € for one of best medium rare steaks I’ve ever had in my life. At first bite I could taste and feel perfectly sealed beef without char, juicy under the crisp seal, yummy spinach, and the melt in your mouth Parmesan. I would never order a side dish of cooked spinach in a restaurant. However, the spinach was a part of the dish and paired perfectly.
Dessert/Dolci Well, we were so amazed that the wine, and all dishes were faultless so far, we decided to help you out even more with decision making by ordering three desserts instead of two, or one to share like we’d do in a place we weren’t happy with. If we found meals completely awful, we wouldn’t stay for dessert at all.
All desserts/dolci 7 € each
Tiramisù yummy, we both loved it. Babà with rum, and served with cream. Light and fluffy. Hubby loved this. I think he loved the rum the most.
Pastiera Napoletana was a delicious ricotta shortcrust pastry tart.
I cannot recommend Sciuè Sciuè Cucina highly enough when next near Monti in Rome. You will probably need to book. We couldn’t get in on our first night in Rome until 9:30. We’d been a Pompeii all day, so that was too...
Read moreMy colleague and I were invited for a dinner out by our senior principal investigator at UniCusano. Our exceptional host exploited the restaurant's closeness to Cavour Metro Station to have us arrive some 30 min earlier, so that we could enjoy a tour of the Roman Fori.
Once at the restaurant, we were welcomed by a caring and attentive staff. I ordered a three-course meal (entree, pasta and main course of fish), while the others opted for two courses (but with wine). Total was about 30 € per person (Jan, 2019).
The atmosphere was cozy and our food was plentiful and delicious. In particular, I appreciated the "tonnarelli", which marry delicacies from the mounts (such as "Pecorino di Fossa" or "Pecorino from the Pit") with slow-cooked seafood. My course of fish was a massive filleet of Orata, with a crunchy skin and a tender flesh, all seasoned with a peculiar lemon sauce and sesame seeds, which gave it a very interesting twist.
I will definitely come back, especially with foreign guests and, possibly, on a weekday, when it is less busy. Better book...
Read moreDefinitely worth going, do book if you can. Is not a big restaurant can get busy. We were lucky to walk in as we were one of the first people to get there, but we did notice lots of people getting turned away and asked to come back 2 hours later. We found this place on the fly as we did have a reservation at another restaurant which claimed they didn't have us booked in. The menu was inventive and a modern twist on Italian food. The homemade pasta with pork sausage was good, so was the calamari and prawn bisque pasta dish. The starters and dessert was delicious too. Friendly staff. Only two people front of house, so when it was busy was difficult to catch their attention after our main meal. Food came out quick. Loved the ambience...
