Benso 215 — Restaurant in Rome

I had the pleasure of dining at Benso, a restaurant located in the heart of Rome, and I can confidently say it was an exceptional experience. The atmosphere at the restaurant is both elegant and welcoming, a perfect blend of modernity and tradition that immediately makes you feel at ease.

The food was simply delicious, with every dish prepared using the freshest ingredients and an attention to detail that showcases the chef's great passion. However, what truly made my evening special was the outstanding service provided by our waiter, David. From the moment we arrived, David stood out for his courtesy and professionalism, expertly guiding us through the menu with a warm and inviting smile.

In particular, David recommended a truly exceptional wine: Dhertona. This is a refined and expensive wine, one I would never have chosen without his suggestion. David passionately and precisely described the unique characteristics of this wine, immersing us in its history and qualities. The Dhertona turned out to be the perfect choice, enhancing every dish and adding a touch of class to our dinner.

Customer service is something I highly value, and David demonstrated a rare dedication to his work. Very disappointing experience - we have been coming to Rome for years, and wanted to try a new restaurant. We had reserved a table in advance, but arrived to find a queue outside and no tables free. We were asked to wait outside, where arguments between other guests waiting had already begun. The staff seemed to have lost control of the situation, with groups without reservations being sat before those with reservations. Standing outside with the staff and other potential diners shouting at each other was hardly the experience we were looking for. We stuck it out as the food did look good, we waited 20 minutes before we were offered a table. We were not seated in the main restaurant but taken downstairs to a basement area. In the basement were 3 large groups, one of them with over 20 tourists who were all very drunk and singing/chanting/shouting very loudly (the Six Nations and Marathon were in Rome that weekend). We sat down at a table that looked like it had been put in a walkway, and literally could not hear each other speak – it felt like a rowdy pub. We gave it five minutes, but it was just getting louder and no waiters or staff had bothered to come and see us anyway, so we decided to leave. When we left the restaurant, the lady who had been failing to manage the queue asked us outside were we not happy, we said it was too noisy, and she nonchalantly agreed ‘Yes, it is very loud down there’. ALL FAKE REVIEWS!!!! ⚠️⚠️⚠️

My friends and I walked through Rome to find a good restaurant for dinner and found Benson 215. It looked nice and the food as well as wine was decent. Nothing too special. Just a decent Italian meal. Our server was Raz and we already noticed that he was most of the time distracted when we put in the order. Not big of a deal either.

After our meal we got espresso and Tiramisu. But at the end when we tried to get the bill, he handed all of us a self printed out piece of paper that said Google reviews and something written in Italian. Also he wrote his own name "Raz" on it. This print looked like they pass it out to every customer and put the servers name on it.

They offered FREE Limoncello for each review.

We wrote it and got the drinks but it completely ruined the night.

We also immediately understood why this place had so many and so many positive reviews. Because most of them are fake, if not all of it.

IT IS ILLEGAL FOR A VUSINESS TO OFFER DISCOUNTS OR GIFTS IN EXCHANGE FOR POSITIVE GOOGLE REVIEWS!!!!!!

Please, if you go here, don't go because of the reviews you see. Again, the food wasn't bad, but the service was. And coming here because you read some deceiving reviews is bad eniugh.
