We came here 3 times. Twice it was amazing and the male waiter who primarily works serving there was always very attentive and provided amazing service. On our third time, I'm assuming it was the wife of the owner who was left to waitress for the night and the owner popping in to help her. He took our order and our drinks arrived straight away, the couple next to us was served and we waited patiently for around 45 minutes assuming that he may be busy. His wife was in charge of the waitressing and could see we were the only ones not served while everyone was being handed their desserts. The elder owner came over again as if he was going to take an order and then realised that we already ordered through him but he had forgotten about us. We realised at that point that clearly our food hasn't been cooked and we've been forgotten so we left money for our drinks and left. Very disappointed as the food was lovely the other days but the lack of an attentive waitress completely ruined it for us and nobody came to say sorry about how long it...
Read moreFirstly this restaurant was advertised as a pizzaria but there were no pizza options on the menu. We experienced long waits here both to place our order and to receive our food. We had a discussion about leaving before even placing our order due to the wait for even our drink order to be taken but decided to stay. We then discussed leaving again after ordering our food as we waited 40+ minutes. We ordered bread to start and then pasta dishes for mains. The bread arrived a few minutes before the mains. The food was okay but not what you'd expect from an authentic Italian restaurant. We also had an issue with payment. They use a very old card machine that has limited range. It took 3 attempts to take payment which we later discovered had all gone through onto our card fortunately 2 of the transactions were refunded. However we still left feeling...

Before coming to Suburra, I hadn’t tried any kind of Carbonara or Cacio e Pepe in Italy, which I was urged by many friend to do. So…on my last night I did both…here. They probably thought that I was just an over-fed American, which I am….except I work out so two pastas are fine especially after touring the Vatican and Colesseum today. I do feel bad for the person sitting next to me on the plane home, because I’m definitely lactose intolerant haha but long story short, I would 100% recommend Osteria Della Suburra. Great food and the Cocco de Casa (I think that’s what it’s called) were very good. Feels like a true family owned restaurant, not a tourist trap, which there are MANY...
