Essenza Wine Bar Trastevere — Restaurant in Rome

ESSENZA WINE BAR just happened to be my destination this evening , it was empty when we arrived ,so we thought it would be nice to stop in for a crisp white bottle of wine. The whole idea was to get some quiet time, and Trastavere town was buzzing evey where ,every night. It's crazy how the town comes alive in the evening , understandable with the type of weather they have in the month of August and with the type of construction heat radiates with the crowds. So, getting back to Essenza . I can only say you have to experience it for your self , it was nice , clean, and the or owners were there to serve with suggestions and ideas. The host/owner was super friendly and his wife was preparing the tasty food. After two weeks of big Italian meals it was so nice to make a meal of some bruschetta and the “finger food” mixed plate, which was nice little samples of several salads and spreads. A great range of drink choices (wine, beer, cocktails, something for everyone). I’ve been chasing high end cocktails in Rome but my Americano (Campari, vermouth, and soda) was one of the most refreshing and satisfying things I’ve had. Air conditioning and WiFi if you need it. It was a rainy afternoon so we popped in for some wine and snacks. Best decision we made! We ended up staying for several hours. Lots of vegetarian items to choose from. We started with a few cocktails which were great. Loved my Espresso Martini! We ordered the Mix DI Tapas, a cheese platter and a bottle of wine. Everything was absolutely fantastic, unique and delicious! . Loved the chocolate with the grater to put on one of the cheeses. The ambiance is very nice and the service was great.
