Gelateria la fragola — Restaurant in Rome

Normally I don’t leave reviews. The most strange service/atmosphere I have ever seen was 2 hours ago, on this negozzio, Friday night, 13/12/24, around 21:00. Rome was in the middle of a heavy rain and thunderstorm, so we went inside to take shelter and decided to have something to eat. I asked the woman if we could sit and eat at the only table they had in the front space, and she said yes. My girlfriend ordered and paid. In our surprise, about 10 minutes later, and without saying anything, at 21:01, they brought our crepes in takeout containers and told us to leave because they close at 21:00. When I addressed the situation, and why they didn’t informed us, the rude guy was repeatedly saying, “That’s not my problem” and “Go find a place to eat outside I have to clean now” (in the middle of the heavy rain). The woman , while giving us a stupid look, told us that when we entered, we should have asked what time they close (for gods shake 😂). Meanwhile, their Google profile says they close at 1:00, as you can see in the screenshot....

Sadly, I need to revise my review and degrade the rating for the customer service that did cheat on a portion size . The first time was great. Second time we purchased ice cream there- not so much. The tall guy served two portions: for EUR 4 and EUR 6. The one for EUR 4 was too small and the one for EUR 6 was even smaller. When we complained, he was dissatisfied and took both of them to be weighed and added some ice cream to the EUR 6 one. He didn't say how many grams of ice cream we get in which portion and he was still offended. He should probably apologize?? Dear ice cream seller: if you take a fixed amount of money from a customer, you should serve the corresponding amount of ice cream. Not the amount of ice cream that suits you. You should apologize and not make offended faces. To the owner, this tall salesman treated us like this. This is how you ruin a good first impression. I will change my opinion when I see your attitude improve. Taste - still good but not good enough to make me forget about that bad...

TOURISTS BEWARE!!!

We visited on May 11, 2022 after touring the Colosseum. While the cannolis were delicious, the staff here was incredibly rude and scammed us on multiple purchases by overcharging. My sister ordered 2 small cannolis which were shown to be 1.5 Euros on the menu. However, the man charged her 4 Euros. Her boyfriend ordered one of the large cannolis which was shown to cost 3 Euros on the menu, and he was charged 4 Euros.

When my boyfriend ordered his gelato, he was also overcharged. However, he noticed the difference from the menu and went back and forth with the man on the register and got the price adjusted. The man gave him a lot of attitude and was angry that my boyfriend pointed out the overcharge.

I'd caution all tourists to double check how much these people are charging you,...
