My recent visit to this charming Italian restaurant in Rome left me with mixed feelings, but overall, it was a delightful experience. Nestled in the heart of the city, the restaurant exuded an authentic Italian ambiance, with warm tones and inviting decor that set the stage for a memorable evening.
The menu boasted a variety of traditional Italian dishes, and after much contemplation, we settled on the cannelloni and beef. The cannelloni, filled with rich ricotta and spinach, was a flavorful delight, showcasing the chef’s dedication to authentic flavors. The beef dish, cooked to perfection, was tender and succulent, a testament to the kitchen’s culinary expertise.
While the taste and presentation were commendable, I must acknowledge that the prices were on the higher side. Although the quality of the dishes justified the cost to some extent, it might deter budget-conscious diners from fully enjoying the experience. I believe a slight adjustment in pricing could make this gem of a restaurant more accessible to a broader range of patrons.
The service was impeccable, with attentive and friendly staff members who added to the positive atmosphere. The waitstaff was knowledgeable about the menu, providing helpful recommendations and ensuring our glasses were never empty. Their commitment to ensuring customer satisfaction elevated the overall dining experience.
In terms of ambiance, the restaurant’s location in Rome contributed to its charm. The subtle background music, combined with the dim lighting, created an intimate setting suitable for a romantic evening or a gathering of friends and family.
In conclusion, despite the slightly higher price point, this Italian restaurant in Rome offers a delightful dining experience that combines authentic flavors, attentive service, and a warm ambiance. Whether you’re a tourist exploring the culinary delights of Rome or a local seeking a special night out, this establishment is worth a visit for a taste of Italy in the heart...
Read moreAfter 2 lovely nights in Rome and after experiencing the best Italian food we have ever eaten in our lives we were unfortunate to follow online google reviews for a restaurant in the Fori de Traina area called La Cabana. We received appalling service and the staff was undoubtedly racist - our appetizers were delivered quite quickly but were very disappointing. We put in and order for 5 dishes for the main course as soon as the appetizer arrived and waited 1 hour before we had to inquire after our meal. Meanwhile, a table of 5 who were sat 20 minutes after we arrived at the restaurant, received 6 dishes within 30 minutes of being seated. The waiter notified us that our meal would be ready in 1 minute and we waited for 45 additional minutes after his update. When 2 out of the 5 basic pasta dishes finally arrived (2.5 hours after we ordered them) they were tasteless with one dish having a garnish of a metal staple. When we asked after the remaining 3 dishes we had ordered, the waiter informed us that there was a “problem in the kitchen” which somehow did not impact orders for other restaurant patrons. We decided to cancel the remainder of the order, paid for the bottle of wine we had consumed and hastily left. Although we were only requested to pay for the bottle of wine and not the appetizers, it did not justify the behavior and service we had to endure. We wasted 2 hours of our valuable evening and our experience in the city was definitely impacted. We were maltreated because of the color of our skin and it’s very disappointing and sad to experience this type of discrimination in a touristy part of Rome. We love Rome and Italy but suggest that you all pass on this restaurant unless it’s the absolute last option. My advice is to avoid La Cabana, especially if you are a...
Read moreOkay so this is a really sweet little restaurant located pretty close to Altare Della Patria in Piazza Venezzia area.. the ambience is okay but what really sold itself was the really nice waiter who helped us choose the best pastas in the house. We wanted vegetarian options and he suggested us two really nice pastas which were so good that had we not intended to have dessert, we would have ordered more.
Now the dessert - some of the best lemon meringue cake and tiramisu we've ever had. When we asked for the dessert menu, voila, the same lovely waiter brought us an entire dessert cart to choose from. It was like having dinner at home. We asked for non alcohol options and he suggested the above two desserts which were just delicious.
An absolutely delightful experience. And not that expensive, by Italian standards. A meal for two people that included main course, desserts and drinks (cola and fresh orange juice) cost us 45 euros.
All in all, one of the best dining experiences I've had in Italy and trust me I've had some...
