First, the paintings are lit so that it is possible to examine every nuance of the paintings without reflections, glare or shadows. Second, the arrangement leads the viewer to move from contrasting and complementary paintings. Thirdly, the choice of paintings was very good. Painters I was familiar with had work that showed techniques I had not seen, and painters I had little experience with, gained appreciation.
