Via Del Corso Home — Hotel in Rome

On the 11th of October I was supposed to arrive from Israel to Rome in order to participate in a conference taking place in the city and stay at the Via Del Corso Home Roma hotel. Unfortunately, a war between Israel and Gaza erupted on the morning of October 7, 2023. This unforeseen conflict led to a highly volatile and precarious situation, with continuous missile attacks targeting various cities across Israel.

Given the safety and well-being of my wife and three small children, I had no choice but to prioritize their protection during these uncertain times. Consequently, on October 8, I promptly contacted the hotel and requested to cancel the reservation. While the conference organizers and the airline demonstrated understanding and agreed to free cancellations, I was disheartened to learn that Via Del Corso representative flatly refused to accommodate my request and insisted on charging the full amount of 1250 euros!!!.

Although the hotel representative offered an alternative option to reschedule my stay for January or February, I must emphasize that the hotel fee is paid from a research fund and cannot be utilized for personal purposes. Furthermore, I explained the hotel representative there are no relevant conferences in Rome during these proposed dates, rendering this alternative impractical for me.

I am fully aware to the hotel's cancellation policy; however, I kindly implore them to show some understanding, compassion, and consideration in light of the extraordinary circumstances I faced. It was extremely disappointing that the hotel has not shown any flexibility or empathy during this...

Hotel has a brown door beside Batix.shop. ||This is really a house that has 8 units only. |They will give you a traditional key for the room, card key for the lights and another key for the main brown door. ||Reception is only 8am to 6pm. |Checkout is 10am. |Few days before arrival they will email u to make sure they can assist u on the best option they can give u.||Wifi internet is slow for me at the bedroom. |Living room is ok. ||Breakfast is delivered every morning to your room which is ample. ||1st day our ceiling got water leak during their cleaning but it was sorted out. ||The next day we hand wash our clothes and place them on the towel warmer but the electricity outlet is not working so we let it be. Housekeeping cleaned our room while we were out and plug the towel warmer into another working outlet and now it works. Thank you for the care. |However she forgot to give us bath towels so we use the medium size ones ;)||Love the unit coz it has a separate dining living room area. Separate bedroom and 2 separate bathroom. |We already experience living in a Rome house ;)|Although there's only one window and overlooking is somebody else's rubbish etc on another roof. ||Place is a good location. |Take bus 81 to Vatican. Bought bus tickets at a tabachhi shop for eur1.50||Walking distance to all nice fountains like the Navona, Pantheon etc. ||So many nice catholic churches. ||From Roma termini train station take bus 40 or 64. |20 mins travel to hotel. |Bus tickets u can buy at the bus terminal which is walking distance from termini. ||Overall good stay. |I recommend...

Loved the location near all of Rome’s most memorable sites! We easily walked everywhere from this Via Del Corso property. And in this Covid time, having a pharmacy for the rapid test(must be taken the day before one’s return flight to US), nearby is a huge bonus(turnaround results in 10 min for 22Euros). ||||The property is beautifully renovated; modern, lovely decor reception & front desk. The rooms are outstanding. Due to our extending our stay, we stayed in 2 rooms, the very spacious, exceptional Deluxe Jr Suite with the spa bathroom that we loved and the lovely, modern standard room. Both had the most comfortable mattresses and linens of our 5 weeks in Italy. Everything is top quality.||||The daily breakfast served in the room is over the top in quality & quantity. Loved the cappuccinos, the fresh fruits, juice, bread, sweets, ham cheese, & so much more.
