After reading all the great reviews I was enticed to have a preliminary experience prior to booking a larger dinner with my business colleagues. I’m certainly glad that I decided to go on my own before sharing the poor experience I had with my colleagues. From the very beginning as I opened the door the business owner was standing there just looking at me did not greet me nor welcome me to his place of business and just walked away from me. So I decide to politely walk up to the bar and ask if there’s any available seating. The restaurant was 2/3 empty, and the waitress stated since I did not have a reservation I would have to sit at the bar. I was perfectly fine sitting at the bar, but thought it was quite odd as all these empty tables were present. Even as I was leaving the place was still fairly empty. My waitress truly was very sweet in the beginning, but after I got my meal I never saw her again, and she completely forgot about my second glass of wine. It took me close to 40 minutes to try to get the bill after asking my waitress and a couple other people. Although I am an Italian American, I felt as I was not local person so therefore they discriminated against me. As stated previously my waitress tried for the first 10 minutes that I was there to be professional, but the rest of the staff made me feel very unwelcomed. Unfortunately, but respectfully I highly would suggest NOT to patronize this please. Even their wine menu is...
Read moreMy second time in this place in one week. Confirmation of my first thought…unfortunately. This comment should not be taken as a negative one but aims modestly at giving a direction to improve and be even more successful. Very good selection of wines. Accessible range of wines and prices. Greet food / concept accordingly. HOWEVER : Wine is about passion. No doubt you have a passion for wine. Please just share it with the clients / customers. Your kind of restaurant / « enoteca » aims at sharing your passion with the client. Not (only) tasting wine or sharing nice bottles with the staff. Share something with your client, speak about wine, ask him / them, try to share your passion. People come to your place mainly to exchange about wine and experiences. We, as clients, cannot feel anything about that at the moment. Come on, try to involve and convert the people who come to you. We do not feel that. Even tougher, we can believe that you do not care about your clients. You do your job and you deliver pretty well. But there is no soul, no passion, almost no smile… I know you can change that. Your concept is great. Besides my tennis job, I am French, I am crazy about wine…and this is the first time in my life in a wine restaurant like yours that I do not speak about wine. I understand the language barrier but this is not an excuse. Come on guys. I know you can do it and I am sure you want to do it. See you next year for the tennis...
Read moreSpent about 3 hours here on a July afternoon while the family was seeing the Vatican. Loved every bit of it. The place is within 5 minutes of the Vatican. Large, good decor and excellent folks. During the afternoon it was not full at all. I sat at the bar and was attended to by this lovely lady- Julia. She had an extensive knowledge about wines- Italian and French, though as they say, when in Rome.... - I only had Italian. Had 3 glasses by the end of it and eventually the family joined and we had 2 desserts- the GIiandiua and the lemon cream and a white. Great food, excellent prices. Spent time with the co-owner who is an architect- which shows in how the place is designed. Overall- loved it. And have to say, Julia was the best. Thank you. Best of luck with your career- you are an...
