Wow. This place is so terrible and incredibly unfriendly to Americans. I ordered the ramen and a futomaki roll. I hardly know where to start. The ramen noodles were way overcooked and most definitely packet ramen. The tonkotsu bone broth was bland and yet somehow too salty. If I had to guess, they mixed the ramen spice packet with a little bit of miso and some hot water. The pork was gray so I did not eat it. The hard boiled egg was exactly that- hehard booked not jellied. The sushi I ordered was incredibly unfresh. The fish was half rotten. The seaweed was old and stale and dry and the rice was dry and possibly reheated. I sent back my food clearly shocked at the quality given reviews I've seen for the restaurant. The wait staff responded by telling me that a hundred people eat here a day and I don't know what I'm talkin about. I was not offered any replacement dishes they simply took the food away and charged me full price. When I attempted to discuss this with the manager and inform him of the low quality dishes I was served he initially claimed he did not speak English. When I asked our waitress to translate for me she did, at which point the manager threatened to call the police if I did not pay. Now speaking perfect English he proceeded to make fun of me and talk smack until I literally had to insist that he give me the change I was owed. I do not believe he intended to give me my change until my husband stepped in and insisted that he give me my change. They charged me 75 euro and almost kept the change from the 100 I dutifully paid. If this restaurant does not poison you they most certainly will rip you off and then attempt to humiliate you. The unfriendliness I experienced verging upon hatred for no apparent reason makes this a restaurant in the heart of Rome you should most...
Read moreThe worst food we have had in Rome. Horrible service from the management. The ramen was totally inedible, obviously from a PACKET. I mean this quite literally in the form of a terrible salty and inedible broth, a hard boiled egg that in no way could resemble ajitama and gray frightening pork that could never pass for charsu pork by any stretch of imagination, the noodles only proved beyond a shadow of a doubt in their terrible flavor and texture the instant ramen experience. The level of disrespect from the management was unbelievable. When we brought our concerns to our waitress we were told 'many people like it.' When we informed the management he laughed about it and did not even offer to remove the inedible dish from the bill. The futomaki roll was also terrible, the seaweed was stale and the rice was terrible. The raw shrimp in the special selection was not fresh and I did not eat more than a bite of it, honestly worried about the danger of consumption. The rude manager even had to be loudly insisted to give us our change after we paid for the meal after he threatened to call the police when we said we shouldn't have to pay for the items we had sent back uneaten. Avoid this place at all costs. This restaurant is an unsightly scar on a Roman reputation...
Read moreMy family and I was travelling Rome. We are living in a country where real Japanese cuisine is non-existent so we were over the moon when we dined here. We dined here 3 times throughout our trip and tried a variety of dishes they have to offer.
Food: exceptional! The chefs knew what they are doing and I can’t find a flaw in anything. Hiring the right kind of chefs are important in Japanese cuisine. I am glad they have done it right! However, I had wished they wouldn’t do Americanised sushi with the sauces as we would have ordered more sushi rolls otherwise. My recommendation would be not ordering those saucy sushi rolls, instead try the authentic Japanese dishes. Also, the best sashimis we have had in Europe in a while! We were also lucky to be served tuna belly!
Price: reasonable for the quality and portion.
Atmosphere: very inviting and comfortable. We have a 2 year old with us and they have made our dining experience so enjoyable.
Service: exceptional. Even though they were full house, they were all attentive and very quick.
Overall, extremely happy. Definitely a restaurant...
