I went to this bar, on thursday 09/03/23 (morning), ordered very politely and nicely at the cashier a capuccino and a cornetto (grande), though in english because unfortunatly I didn't take italian at school :D. I excused myself for not speaking italian. The cashier was a bit mocking and arrogant because I wasn't from here, that's ok we're used to it as tourist and 'non local'. On his own question, I precised to the cashier that I'll consume at the bar, and was charged 4,5 euros in total. I stayed few minutes to consume my orders at the bar, and had time to notice on the list that the cappucino was 2 euros (bar price) and the grande cornetto 1,5 euro ; therefore, there was an error for 1 euro and it appeared to be obviously intentional. I went to the cashier and told him about the mistake. His first reaction was : 'I thought you were not going to consume at the bar' (!). First, my order was very clear and he got it, like the rest (Q: Were you going to consume outside ? ; A: No, I'll stay in and have it at the bar). Then, the cashier is litterally at one meter of the bar, there was 3 clients in total and I drank before him AT THE BAR for 5 minutes (one meter away). The cashier (representing in that case the whole bar management) is clearly non honest, and tries to take advantage of tourists. As I'm not the same type of man as the cashier, the barman, who seemed to be a nice guy, had the one 'disputed' euro as a tip. But, is it worth it to lose your pride as a man, as lying for riping off a tourist for 1 euro, and not assuming it at the end ? Don't you love your city, and want to give a good image about it ? Because it was my first hour in Roma, and also my only day, and I will take that nice memory with me ! ADDENDUM after the answer of the manager : you wrote your 'answer' two months after the facts and my comments, and you tell me about authenticity and honesty... I'm sorry to have to tell this, but your answer doesn't correspond to anything close to reality and what happened (it appears that you were not there in person). Please check your video recordings on the 09/03/23, morning : you'll be able to see and visually confirm everything I described. I clearly answered that I will consum at the bar (I never mentionned a table or outside, when ordering), there was 3 clients max. in your bar, and your cashier saw me during 5 minutes consuming at the bar, in front of him. I totally agree with you and it's better to settle this kind of incident in persons ; this is exactly what I did, and this is why I prove 'in real life' that your cashier was wrong and got back the one euro, which I gave to your barman as a tip. Defending your business is understandable, but you do it against the truth and the obvious facts, and sometimes just simply acknowledging mistakes, say sorry, are not a sign of weakness, but helps to grow and improve yourself in...

Old bar, old racist mentality of the young female barista. I walked in and went to the bar. Two people were leaving and it was totally empty. I stood at the bar and the barista totally ignored me. SEVEN white people walked in after me at the bar and were served immediately. I stood waiting and finally got mine last as everyone else left. I had to ask the nice guy behind the register and he seemed very surprised I wasn't served.

Interactions like this are common in certain places in Europe and it is very dehumanizing. If you don't want to serve Black and Brown people, don't take my money. Maybe you can have a sign saying that whites will be served first. It's a shame because the coffee was excellent. I won't be going back and I recommend you don't go to places with this old racist...

Updated 10/8/2023 —- I went back this morning (in incognito), cappuccino was slightly better... however milk was very hot and burnt taste, very little foam. No cinnamon this time. Would I recommend to someone? Yes only if you are staying in this neighborhood. Still think better options are within a walks away.

Original 10/7/2023 —- Do not waste your time or money. Does not know how to make a cappuccino. I received a burnt milk with very little foam. No coffee taste and a ton of cinnamon to mask whatever they gave me. I stood at the bar counter, took 2 sips and walked out. A coffee at a vending machine tastes better than this. Far better...

Not far from our guesthouse, this quickly became our hangout before going back to freshen up for dinner. Prosecco (or wine or an Aperol Spritz) always hit the spot and helped wind you down after a long day of walking and stimulation overload. There were always snacks that came with your drink - changed up daily - something you didn’t know you needed. Highly recommend checking this place out, good prices, good drinks and good people watching!

This place was our first experience of Italian coffee - coming from Melbourne, we're a bit snobby but my oh my did this place impress! We ended up having more, it was delicious. A perfect hole in the wall coffee shop to get you by in the mornings. I wish we were in Rome longer, otherwise we would be back again and again. Our Italian is quite terrible, but they accommodated us and spoke in English. 10/10, Bellissimo!

BEST COFFEE PLACE near Ponte Sisto. Authentic roman cake, coffee and drinks. Dad and now son has had the place for many years. I was here in 1977. Then I was allowed to see a thank-you letter from King of Denmark Frederik, who had a drink here. We will be back again soon :-)
