We were excited to try this place for a good steak in an elegant setting. Upon arrival, we were told it was reservation-only, but fortunately, they had a table available for us.
Unfortunately, things quickly went downhill. Our first mistake was not being familiar with the portion sizes, as we’re used to ordering steak in ounces, not grams. We realized too late that the steaks we ordered were much larger—and far more expensive—than we expected.
When we tried to clarify or adjust our order, the server/manager was incredibly rude and unprofessional. He insisted the steaks were already on the grill (even though only a minute had passed) and said we had no choice but to pay for them. We tried to be reasonable and suggested sharing just one steak instead of two, but he escalated the situation by shouting at us in front of the entire restaurant.
The atmosphere became so tense that other guests actually walked out. We were shocked when he tried to charge us €445 for just two steaks and a couple of drinks—no sides, and no food was ever served. We refused to pay for what we didn’t receive but did cover the drinks we had. Even then, he tried to overcharge us and sarcastically told us to “use a calculator” when we questioned the bill.

The inside has a red and gold decor that makes you feel comfortable while knowing that you are in a upscale dining. Frederico paid attention to all our needs and had multiple suggestions as we were not able to make our minds. Though they had no bartender on duty they were able to make an amazing Negroni and Aperol Spritz. The carpaccio truffle was delicious and so was the steak. There is a dehydrator where you can choose your steak and the weight. We have yet to meet a server like Frederico here in Rome!! I went today at 7:00 PM and waited until 7:20 PM because it seemed that the staff were not yet ready to open. At 7:20 PM, when we tried to enter, one of the staff members told us to come back in 15 minutes. At 7:40 PM, we returned and waited in front of the establishment in vain. It wouldn’t have been an issue if we had received an explanation, but we wasted an hour traveling specifically to reach your establishment and another 40 minutes waiting for your staff to be ready to open, only for everything to end in disappointment and the need to find another place.
