Ristorante Apuleius — Restaurant in Rome

My husband and I are staying nearby, visiting from the UK for the first time. We stumbled across this restaurant by chance. On looking at the reviews we decided to visit and we have been absolutely blown away. This is some of the best food we have ever tasted. Literally. We simply cannot understand the negative reviews we read, although there weren't many anyway. There's always someone out there willing to complain about nothing. The service, décor, wine and staff were fabulous. The staff spoke English and the English pages on the menus were so helpful and generous to us as tourists. Most importantly though, the food was astounding. It was absolutely delicious and we were served the perfect portion sizes. The quality matches the price. You get what you pay for here. There's plenty of food and the quality is just amazing but if it's larger portions at cheaper price you want then you are meant for lower grade establishment my friend. We loved the produce being locally sourced also, the staff had genuine enthusiasm for this and it showed. Keep doing exactly what you do Ristorante Apuleius....

Very, very, very rude !! Iwas was 13:4Oh, I've wait 2 min for someone to ask for a table, there was no one, I've gone to the washing rooms by the time, to optimise my time, when I got out of the bathroom they said it was completed and most part of the tables were empty, the kitchen close by 14:30 , so, there was no one to come yet. First question, why they didn't get me a table? I was normal dressed, not inappropriate, and to complete their bad behaviour, they said that I shouldn't go to the restrooms, because it was only for the costomers. What the hell am I ? I stumbled onto this beautiful little restaurant on my last day in Rome, and I have to say that it was the best meal I had while in Italy. Everything was perfect- from wine pairing to my meal. I had some sort of raw fish tartare with fresh winter truffles, a pasta and desert. It seems like locals enjoy this place a lot. Service was top notch. As someone in the same industry overseas, I strive to provide similar experience to my guests as well. If I ever make my way back to Italy, I am taking day trip back to Rome just for one more meal.
