Not just unfriendly, unaccountable behavior all around. As a party of 3, we sat down and ordered one pizza and two glasses of wine. The waiter threw his hands up and barked at us - âwhy arenât we eatingâ. Apparently he didnât like the fact we only wanted one pizza and literally went into a tantrum and walked away. Never saw him again for the night but did get to observe him hugging his friends on the sidewalk as they walked by. This job is a joke to the staff that works there. He Completely ignored all of his tables. We then were moved inside due to the rain. Since our waiter abandoned us, my wife had to go to the bar to order a cappuccino. Then another waiter we watched be rude to his tables drops off the coffee and then screams in front of the entire restaurant â thatâs unbelievableâ. At this point I had enough, so I asked what the problem was and he shouts at the top of his lungs- and says âItalians drink cappuccino in the morning, but you do what you wantâ. The rudeness quieted the room and everyone there was shocked. Seemed the amateur crew was working tonight and their mission was to make sure anyone that ate had an absolute horrific experience. This placed has earned the Worst experience of my life in a restaurant. Completely unacceptable. Do...
Read moreMy wife and I dined at this fine Italian establishment, this passed summer, for our 5-year Wedding Anniversary and let me say - we were treated like royalty. The pizza was prepared by a pizza "specialist" and it was the finest pizza I've ever had and I will never forget that taste. You just can't find that anywhere else in the world. The service was number one - our server was Andrea and even though the place is under new management there were no hiccups or delays - everything ran smoothly. All the staff were very nice, courteous, and well trained. I would definitely go there.
The antipasto platter was also a highlight I will never forget. There were assorted cheeses, slices of cured local meats, figs, and specialty breads. I almost forgot the pasta I had! It was so flavorful and well cooked. I don't know why it tastes so different in Italy - maybe it's the water from the Roman aqueducts.
The environment was very cozy but roomy enough to not feel crammed. It was lively in one room being right on the corner of the street (beautiful walk by the way) or we walked towards the next room which is more secluded for those who would like more privacy.
Next time we're in Rome we will be going...
Read moreWe arrived with high expectations but left very disappointed. The biggest letdown was the service. The main waiter clearly favored locals, which is understandable to some extent, but when you're left waiting excessively for a menu, for your order to be taken, and then for your food to arriveâwhile locals around you are promptly and courteously servedâit leaves a bad impression. We never complained or made any special requests; we consider ourselves friendly and easygoing diners, but that approach didnât seem to work here. For our meal, we ordered the artichoke appetizer and pasta alla carbonara as the main course. Both dishes were just okayâthe artichoke was served in an excessive pool of oil, while the pasta was overly dry and lukewarm, possibly left sitting in the kitchen too long before being served. When it came time to pay, we noticed that locals received their bills at the table and paid the waiter directly. In contrast, we were left waiting with no attention and eventually had to go inside to settle the bill ourselves. Having visited much better restaurants in Trastevere, I definitely would not...
