ROYALBEEF x SPLENDORI PIZZA — Restaurant in Rome

We went here late april 2024. We asked about the menu and only got this QR code to scan with our mobile. On the menu were only portions of 1kg of meat. As this was too much for the 2 of us we asked if could have less. This was no problem he said, you can order the amount of gram you want. Then the owner/supervisor of the evening came to take our order . I clearly ordered HALF a kilo in english as she was acting not to understand. "So 1kg" she asked, I said no HALF a kilo of meat. We also said we want it medium. When we received the meat, it was bloody as hell...So we said this not medium, pls take it back against the waiter who initially helped us.Eventually they baked it shortly on the highest level which made the steak rock hard on the outside, but still red on the inside. We didnt eat anymore from the steak as it was not well prepared.

Then this supervisor came again and asked to have rebaked again, which is a joke of course. We said no thanks, just throw it in the bin.

Then we asked for the bill and on the bill it was stated 1kg , instead 0,5kg what we ordered explicitly.

Then this supervisor lady went total in Italian acting mode and saying "oh i thought 0,5kg per person". I said no we ordered 0,5 kg of meat which also came on 1 plate to share. Eventually we paid EUR 60 and left.

Anticipo che la stella è relativa alla PESSIMA esperienza col servizio: alla cassa siamo stati trattati con sufficienza e maleducazione e con un comportamento tutt'altro che professionale. I problemi non sono sorti con la cameriera, gentilissima e professionale, ma col "cameriere", che non ha saputo esporre i piatti relativi all'offerta "degustazione royal!". Le sue parole a riguardo sono state, ben tre volte, "non so, decide lo chef". In due persone abbiamo pensato che 7 portate sarebbero state sufficienti per uscire sazi dal locale, per cui abbiamo ordinato un menù degustazione, dal costo unitario di €50. Ciò che non ci è stato anticipato (né è indicato nel menù con QR code) proprio dal suddetto cameriere, era che la formula royal! è solo disponibile per l'intero tavolo. Vale a dire, o tutti o nessuno. Tra i vari "non lo so" espressi dal confuso e incompetente maitre, la cui unica abilità sembra essere proprio quella di aprire bottiglie di vino, ce n'era anche uno relativo al taglio, frollatura, provenienza e peso della carne (nel menù è indicata come "bistecca X2). Al pagamento del conto, piuttosto che i €50 del menù royal! più coperto, calice di vino, acqua e contorno, per un totale di €69, ci siamo ritrovati con un altro numero, molto più salato del sale doppio fatto piovere sulla nostra carne (sale, tra l'altro, non richiesto). L'ammontare della nostra cena è stato di €119. Ho pagato due menu degustazione royal! avendo consumato solo una porzione di "bistecca X2" che, a detta del cameriere, aveva un peso di 1kg. Per concludere, o siamo stati noi idioti a non capire le descrizioni sconclusionate del ragazzo, o è stato lui incompetente nel proprio lavoro. L'altra opzione, è che la bistecca X2 pesi circa 500g, e che quindi ogni cliente debba consumare una porzione di 250g. Ipotesi che non sa in piedi da sé. The food is excellent, no doubt. The service is unfortunately inconsistent. The first time we visited we were very impressed by the charming #2 chef and the equally gracious server Vincenzo (?). It was an excellent and welcoming dining experience. The second time we visited (Nov 2nd), we were greeted for lunch by a locked door. We called them and they opened for us. We were served by Ilaria, who made us feel like we were more of a bother than paying customers (with plenty of other dining options).
