SCAM. STAY AWAY! This place charged us a cover charge (coperto) even though it's ILLEGAL in Rome!! (Only found out after)
One of the female Chinese staff, the one that is at the reception, with short hair, was rude. We asked for a glass of normal tap water which is drinkable and something you can ask for, and she abruptly said no, only bottled water with or without carbonation. She said they don't even drink tap water and would not provide it. To prove to my travel buddy that you can indeed ask for and get served normal tap water by eateries in Rome, I searched it up online.
I asked another staff, a male one, perhaps the only male staff there in a red shirt, he had the best customer service attitude there, and apologetically explained they don't serve tap water. I was able to point out that other places do, and he was still nice about it. This restaurant has napkins made of a type of paper fabric. My travel buddy asked what it is and he explained that's tougher and more expensive than normal paper but disposable so they don't need to wash cloth napkins. Despite being disposable and single use, it looks and feels more luxurious.
The point is, they would rather spend the money on fancy, disposable napkins and be petty and charge customers for bottled water than serve free drinkable tap water. This plus the woman's poor attitude guarantees I will never return.
Also their wonton soup is a tiny portion, and I have child sized hands. Their pork rib noodles are also oily and they don't give free water that comes...
Read morePopped into this restaurant as my family and I were craving Chinese food while on holiday.
Restaurant had a lovely atmosphere and decor, in addition to a prime location in the heart of Rome.
However, the service was subpar. We initially ordered tea for 5, but then wanted to change it to 4 as one of us wanted to order a different drink. Despite the tea not being served yet, the manager refused to let us make the change and claimed that they have already started preparing tea for 5 in the kitchen. This was utter nonsense as each Chinese restaurant serves the same amount of tea leaves in their teapots, with the only difference being the number of cups provided for each person whoâs drinking the tea. There is no way you can âportionâ tea while brewing it in a teapot - thatâs exactly what the separate tea cups are for.
The manager apparently had no issue with giving such a nonsensical reason even to Chinese family who have had experience with Chinese restaurants at home.
The young waiter who served us also had very long and unkempt fingernails which further marred our experience.
To top it off, food was the very definition of average. Wouldnât recommend for diners looking for decent service, let alone an authentic Chinese meal. We had better experiences with lower prices at other humbler, but more authentic Chinese restaurants during our...
Read moreSo we woke up early this morning and marched all over the seven hills. Finally hobbled back to our hotel exhausted and in pain. We crashed until about 10:00 when we woke up very hungry. We'd only been in Rome a couple days but had already had our fill of pizza and pasta. Looking on my Google Map app and saw this place around the corner from our hotel. I walked down there and lije a typical American, just assumed they would have what I wanted. I didn't even look at a menu. I just asked for sesame chicken, fried rice, and egg rolls. And a Coke Zero. They were so nice. They took my order and packed it to go. It was very reasonably priced. They had every right to turn me away but they made every effort to give me what I asked for. The sesame chicken was a little different than what we get from the Chinese restaurant back in Texas. The fried rice had pancetta in it, but the spring rolls were just like back home. After a long day, it hit the spot. I highly recommend this place to anyone who needs some comfort food after a long day of...
