Review: A Hidden Gem for Ha Gow and Bubble Tea in Rome Nestled in the vibrant streets of Rome, this charming eatery has quickly become a standout for its exceptional ha gow, flavorful non-dairy bubble tea, and delightful ambiance. As someone who’s always on the hunt for authentic and memorable dining experiences, I was thoroughly impressed by this spot, which effortlessly blends culinary excellence with a cozy, inviting atmosphere. Here’s a detailed review of why this place deserves a glowing recommendation. The Star of the Show: Ha Gow Let’s start with the ha gow, which is hands-down the best I’ve ever had in Rome. These delicate Cantonese shrimp dumplings were a revelation. The wrappers were translucent, perfectly thin, and just sticky enough to hold their shape without overpowering the filling. Each bite revealed a generous portion of plump, juicy shrimp, seasoned with a subtle balance of flavors that highlighted the freshness of the ingredients. The texture was spot-on—soft yet slightly chewy, with the filling bursting with natural sweetness. Unlike some places where ha gow can feel heavy or greasy, these were light, refined, and clearly crafted with care. Whether you’re a dim sum aficionado or a first-timer, this ha gow is a must-try that sets a new standard for Rome’s culinary scene. Non-Dairy Bubble Tea: A Flavorful Delight The non-dairy bubble tea was another highlight that elevated this experience. As someone who appreciates plant-based options, I was thrilled to find a bubble tea that didn’t rely on dairy to deliver bold, satisfying flavors. The tea base was robust, with a well-balanced strength that didn’t overpower the drink’s other elements. Whether you opt for a classic taro, fruity lychee, or a more adventurous flavor, the menu offers something for every palate. The tapioca pearls were perfectly cooked—chewy without being gummy—and added just the right amount of texture. What stood out most was the attention to detail in balancing sweetness; it was flavorful without being cloying, making it a refreshing complement to the meal. For non-dairy drinkers, this bubble tea is a game-changer in a city where such options can be hard to come by.
Ambiance: Adorably Chic The decor deserves its own moment of praise. The space is absolutely cute, with a whimsical yet modern aesthetic that feels like a warm hug. Think pastel accents, playful wall art, and cozy seating that invites you to linger. The attention to detail in the design—whether it’s the quirky light fixtures or the thoughtfully arranged plants—creates an Instagram-worthy vibe without feeling overly trendy. It’s the kind of place where you can enjoy a solo meal, catch up with friends, or even bring a date for a relaxed yet charming experience. The ambiance perfectly matches the food: approachable, delightful, and memorable. Final Thoughts: A Must-Visit in Rome This spot is a rare find in Rome, blending authentic Asian flavors with a welcoming atmosphere that feels both fresh and comforting. The ha gow alone is worth the visit, setting a high bar for dim sum in the city. Pair that with a stellar non-dairy bubble tea, perfectly balanced spice levels, and an irresistibly cute setting, and you’ve got a dining experience that checks all the boxes. I’m already looking forward to my next visit, and I’d recommend this place 100% to anyone craving quality food in a space that feels like a little escape. Whether you’re a local or just passing through, make sure to add this gem to your list—you won’t be...
Read moreHands down the worst food I’ve had in Italy and maybe the worst “Chinese food”I’ve had in my whole life. Look, we know we’re in Italy, so it’s not like we were expecting the most authentic Chinese food on the planet but the food and service here were downright terrible.
No normal plain vinegar for dumplings (only soy sauce vinegar) combined with salty dumpling filling (likely to preserve the filling so that it stays fresher for longer), the msg heavy noodle soup and to top it off the stale salt covered edamame, left us finishing an entire 1.5 L of water on our way home. To put “handmade Chinese dumplings” in big capitals at the front of the shop is both misleading and an utter embarrassment to Chinese cuisine.
The servers were also extremely rude and passive aggressive, instructing us about how to eat and mocking our English. Last but not least, our starter came 30 minutes after everything else, which personally I don’t care about but since they kept telling us about “how we do in Italy”, I’ll leave that here. Don’t come here unless you want your night to be ruined by bad service...
Read moreI just saw a comment about not letting her seat in a 4 seater chair… How stupid can that girl be. I happen to be eating with my friends in this restaurant today… I heard their conversation… The manager is explaining calmly to her that she can either wait for the table or seat in that 4 seater ones but she cannot order in the meantime because its only for 4 person, and besides there’s actually a table thats already done. She’s the one who just can’t wait. Your not a VIP person you know. If she just said that she’s pregnant I think the manager will give the table to her which she didn’t even mention. The restaurant is a very small one so she should’ve understand that they can’t just give the table to her ( if she even have a brain ). The manager is explaining it to her very calmly but she’s the one thats like over exaggerating things. These people should just stay in their home and not ruin a good restaurant like this one…
Anyways I recommend the place guys… Best dumpling I tasted while staying here in...
