The staff are dishonourable and disrespectful. They are not honest. Instead they lie.
They are not good human beings. All they care about is money.
Their behaviour suggests their pieces are not actually handmade and instead come from a factory... or maybe they are just lying to make sales.
You should not support a shop like this.
2)) Once I noticed what was happening, I told the staff. They said no thats not happening. I had to question them multiple times. Only then did they stop the other customer from walking out the door with the bag I was going to buy. Why did they refute what I was saying at first? After I tell them one time, they should realise what is happening.
Once they realised what was happening, they did not apologise for almost selling the item I had literally already agreed to buy and that they had stored away for me. If it was an honest mistake, it is common decency to apologise. They did not.
They did not explain to the other customer that there was a mistake. Why did they not tell the other customer that she cannot buy the item, because I was the first customer and I already agreed to buy it? They did not say anything to the other customer.
At this point in the situation, why did they not let me buy the item? I was the first customer, I said I wanted to buy it, okay fine there was a mistake somewhere and another customer wanted it, but to resolve the situation I should be allowed to buy my item. They did not let me do this. This is not how you treat customers if you are honest and honourable people. They are dishonest and disrespectful people.
Instead the staff said nothing to me or the other customer. They just told us to wait. I had spent a long time in the store already. I now wanted to buy my item and leave. They did not let this happen. The staff just told us all to wait without explanation. Why did they do this?
Eventually one staff member comes out from the back room with another bag of the same design and style of the bag I chose. Clearly they were motivated only by money and wanted to keep both me and the other customer waiting whilst they attempted to sell two items to two people. There was no explanation about what was happening.
Once the staff brought out this second bag, they just handed it to me, did not say anything to me, and walked away to talk to the other customer and tried to sell her more things. This is not honest customer service. This shows they only care about money and not about people. They did not even say anything to me. Not one word. I should be allowed to see both the bags, including the one that I had originally chose. I was the first customer who wanted to buy it! What kind of service is it where they hand me only the second bag, and not the one I originally chose?
I told the staff I was not sure if they were identical. I only had the second bag in front of me. The staff said "no they are the same" and said nothing else. What kind of customer service is this? At this point they should have let me see both bags. How can the bags be identical if they are hand made? It does not make sense. If they were honest people they would let me see both next to each other. Maybe the bags are made in a factory and are not handmade. I dont know. Anyway, they are dishonest people who did not let me see both.
I had to question them multiple times, saying hat I dont think the second bag is the same as the one I originally chose. They said it was identical again, but then took the bag infront of me and swapped it with the original bag that was still infront of the other customer. Still they did not let me see both together....
2023 Update! STILL AMAZING! Aldo is beyond a gem! He is the real deal....ASTOUNDING leather craftsman. Have been buying things from him for years. Our son is 20 and he has been getting belts and things from him since he was little...he walked in with one of those plastic gladiator helmets and the strap had broken. Aldo fashioned a bespoke strap for him - no charge. We have been devotees ever since. Our son, now at University proudly uses his Aldo wallet with his initials on it. Aldo was our first stop on our short two day trip to Rome. He is a special person and his wife is a lovely person as well. Purses, belts, wallets, boxes for jewellry...he has it all and he MAKES it all. Hubby got 3 belts and a wallet, I got belts and some bags and a handful of lovely gifts for friends.
