Was taken here by my bf for birthday dinner and he had made a reservation in beforehand.
A typical guest this Friday seemed to us be people who lives in San Lorenzo.
The hostess welcomed us and brought us to the table instant we arrived. She gently guided us through the menu after first let us read it through our self.
We eat beef, pork and lamb in different dishes, pasta and anti pasta. The food is served and presented at the plate in a basic and easy way. Here is the taste what matter not how fancy you can make the food look like.
It was all well cooked, good quality of the meet and seasoned in a balanced way and not to much of salt, peppar, herbs wine or what ever is pretty common to pour in to pots and pans. All tastes are clean and smooth, meet soft, juicy and tender. We got the feeling that the kitchen are working with care about the guest and so also the ingredients. All taste and flavours are their and meet is tender and well prepared. Our 3 course dinner took 2.5 hours, served with wine chosen out of a good and broad selection. A big plus for the selection of half litres bottles to chose among.
Service is fantastic and it turns out that most of the food are cooked after recopies based of the lovely owners mother.
I will, with out any doubt if any ask for Rome recommendation tell people about this pearl after our really really...
Read moreAbsolutely love this restaurant! I’m in Rome for a month and have been to this place more than I’ve been to any other restaurants. It’s got an old fashion charm with its old tables and chairs that feel like they came from someone’s family kitchen, and the same can be said for the excellent and not pretentious food! If you want to eat like a local, go where the locals go not where the guidebooks tell you (and everyone else!) to go and Tram Tram is always full of locals! Tram Tram is hidden gem a little out of the tourist areas, in the lively San Lorenzo Area you will find lovely staff and honest food reasonably priced! Sometimes it’s full sometimes it’s not so I recommend you book, although I never booked and they managed to squeeze me in. I took my kids there when they visited me and they declared the carbonara as the best carbonara they ever tasted but I also recommend the lamb ragú or the meatballs. I have a few days left with another family visit and no doubt I will be a...
Read moreOwned by sisters from Puglia, it’s one of the beautiful trattorias that maybe a bit out of the way but, consequently, isn’t as tourist infested and very pleasant.
The cuisine is mostly Roman with a few sentimental touches from the South.
The anchovies were wonderful and fresh in a home style breading. The liver and various other offals beautifully cooked and hearty. The Pajata was amazing, look it up and don’t faint. The pasta with squid was simple and fresh, perhaps the only dish that didn’t impress. The homemade cake with figs was a beautiful ending.
We had a bottle of local wine to go with the meal but you will certainly find a more recognizable bottle to your liking.
A simple but beautiful restaurant, we like to visit most times we...
