LA TRAPOLA PER I TURISTI !!! ATANZIONE !!! ЛОВУШКА ДЛЯ ТУРИСТОВ !!! tourist trap! Be careful, don't even get close! I read good reviews on the internet and came to this restaurant. There are beautifully set tables and nicely dressed waiters, at first glance, a high-level restaurant. And then "hello" - the waiter runs up, who immediately starts asking too many questions: "Where are you from? Are you in our restaurant for the first time? Are you married ??" .. :-O ... - it's just a shock !!! The waiter said his name and gave me his hand to introduce him. I gave my hand in response, after which, for about 3 minutes he did not let go of my hand, held it tightly, looked at my rings and commented on them. :-O In some countries, this would be defended as harassment! Then his vile game continued! This restaurant has a very rich selection of wines. Those that are not in the menu are marked with a pencil "no". I chose 2 different bottles from those that are available. The waiter said that both are not there, he said he can offer something else. Then I chose another bottle myself, even cheaper (on purpose!). He left and came back with another bottle, 7 euros more expensive than the one I ordered. Of course 7 € is not money, but it's a principle !!! I ask "why didn't you bring the bottle I ordered ???? !!!" And in response he began to tell me that "I am beautiful" :-O :-O is just some kind of nightmare !!! Presumably the waiter is very low level Arab and any pretty clothes can't fix it !!! They are there in their countries apparently do not know how to serve customers. in short, I got up and i left. I Didn't taste food and drinks. I didn't pay anything, I was lucky. a terrible place, they will try to cheat you there for every euro cent, even on trifles, when not necessary. I usually tip 10 percent of the check if I'm happy. but as a result of the behavior of the Arab waiter, he himself did not earn anything, and he organized that the restaurant (where he works) lost a client. but I have to thank him! because, thanks to his actions, I accidentally ended up in a very good and tasty restaurant, which is really Italian. only ~ 400 meters from the first place. The prices were adequate, the food was real Italian, (not for tourists), the staff was excellent, very professional. That other restaurant is called "cecio" - try it better , than the low level Arab tourist trap.

I recently visited this Italian restaurant, drawn in by the fairy lights outside and literal red carpet outside the restaurant. The ambiance was fine dining but without the prices—fairy lights everywhere, charming decor, and just enough dim lighting to hide the fact I went for seconds on the complimentary bread. The food was delicious and surprisingly affordable. Nothing makes pasta taste better than realizing you’ll still be able to pay your rent after the meal. When the bill arrived, I was pleasantly surprised—no service charge! I had to blink twice to make sure I wasn’t imagining things. As my colleagues at work know, I’m not a fan of service charges unless absolutely necessary. I paid by card, and while making small talk, I noticed the waiter seemed a bit disappointed that I hadn’t added a tip. He politely asked if I was happy with the service and, rather curiously, where I was from—probably to figure out which “stingy” country I come from. I told him I was from London, to which he responded with an “ahhh” that felt loaded with expectation. Then he asked where my family is from and I said China and that’s when it probably hit for him - the Asians don’t like tipping (which is true as you don’t tip in China). The staff had been so lovely throughout the evening that I decided to add a €10 tip. Instantly, his frown flipped into a smile. Suddenly, he was helping me with my coat and enthusiastically inviting me to come back again soon. It was a complete turnaround—clearly, tips really do make the world go round! Overall, great food, magical vibes, and a bill that didn’t make me cry. Highly recommend!

I went here last night. My father had made reservations for two with his fiance. I tagged along and they fit me in. After requesting al fresco dining, they asked us to wait in a seating area and offered us cocktail menus, but they never took our cocktail order. We were seated outside in a few minutes. I ordered a Negroni. It was a little "frou frou" with fresh pansy flowers, but very good. I had a mixed salad, zucchini flowers and a grilled beefsteak. The salad was one of the best I have had in Italy. The sliced tomatoes were perfectly ripe. The zucchini flowers were prepared in an interesting way, breaded, with carbonara sauce under them. It was well made but did not appeal to me. I was disappointed that my filet mignon appeared to have come from the tail end. It was riddled with gristle. I had to slice it up like a surgeon and left a lot on the plate because of all the tendon. I mentioned this to the waiter but he didn't offer the do anything about it. The wines by the glass were somewhat limited, and some were out of stock My father and I had a serviceable glass of Banfi Chianti. This place has potential. The ambiance is very posh and romantic. Dining al fresco is a plus. In my opinion, more careful attention should be paid to the quality of the food.

We went to this restaurant today because of the many 4.6 star reviews, and an inviting ambiance.

The restaurant has air conditioning, which is great in these extremely hot days in Rome, and very nice background music that was played a little too loudly. The servers were very friendly.

Well, if you are happy to pay a lot of money for an elegant, really inviting ambience and accept "fake" Italian food prepared by a non-Italian chef, then this is the place for you.

It's all a matter of taste, but I have Italian family both in Rome & Sienna who cook traditional Italian food themselves and have invited us to traditional restaurants in Rome as well, and the food is as different from the food we had at Vattani as day & night. For example, since when is a REAL Italian minestrone red and tastes like tomato soup? The pasta in the Roman classic dish “Bucatini Amatriciana” was overcooked and the guanciale in the pasta was pure fat, totally soft and disgusting, instead of crispy pieces of part fat, part meat. We canceled another ordered dish before it was delivered, because of our disappointment in the food. It's supposed to be authentically Italian and taste good, with a hefty price of €41 for one minestrone soup, a pasta dish (Amatriciana) & one bottle of mineral water. The waiter didn't seem surprised by our cancelation. By the way, I was sitting near the kitchen and could see the servers returning half full plates from other guests. It was not only us who didn't appreciate the food.

We can only explain the many good reviews by saying that the guests have no idea how these dishes should be originally prepared and taste in an authentic Italian way. For us, this was a big disappointment and we felt it was a tourist trap, which is located next to the...
