Look, I went to Very Açaí expecting a tropical flavor explosion. What I got felt more like a sad smoothie that had been ghosted by its ingredients.
Let’s start with the granola — dry, bland, and clearly made without love (or cinnamon). It was giving “forgotten muesli” energy. Then there’s the infamous €1.50 for a dollop of homemade peanut butter. I get it, artisanal is the vibe, but that portion was smaller than my trust in influencers now. For that price I expected at least a flirt of crunch, or maybe a wink from the staff.
The açaí itself? More banana than açaí. I signed up for that deep, rich berry flavor — not a mildly purple smoothie that tastes like someone yelled “açaí” from the next room while blending up a banana.
Portion sizes were also suspiciously tiny. You finish it and immediately want to check your pockets for backup snacks. And honestly, after trying it, I’m just confused by all the glowing reviews — do they come with a free shot of nostalgia or a coupon for better taste?
In conclusion: it’s not offensive, just underwhelming. Like a rom-com where the leads have no chemistry. Would I return? No. But hey — if you’re into tiny, dry, expensive bowls of disappointment, this might...
Read moreFinally found a healthier breakfast option in Rome! This place is in Prati, which is where we stayed, so it was a short walk for us. My husband got avocado and hummus toast and I got a bowl with smoked salmon. Both were fresh and delicious. We also got lattes with coconut and almond milk. Coming from the US, our alternative milk options have no flavor, they taste like water. So these coffees here were a huge surprise to us, as the coconut and almond milks actually tasted like coconut and almonds!
I think there was only 1 person working there, so there was a bit of a wait. But she was very pleasant. We only saw 3 small tables outside, so it’s not really a good option for a bigger group, I think. Otherwise, a great find!...
