Passaguai — Restaurant in Rome

Today we walked all around the Vatican and the most religious experience was delivered to me in the form of a plate of swordfish carpaccio.

This spot has friendly and welcoming staff (Angelo was very helpful with the slightly confusing menu), great wines, and wonderful food made from ingredients that had been carefully selected.

This is clearly a local hangout, but it's also a good spot for visitors coming out of the Vatican who want something light and a bit more refined than the usual fare in the touristy areas.

One thing to mention - if you're British or Irish and looking for something new, avoid choosing "nostra mela" for your dessert. It was essentially the apple pie and custard you know and love from your school dinners. Delicious, but not the new experience the menu would have...

By pure luck found myself at the tastiest spot I could have asked for! Started with refreshing rose wine and duck, rocket and orange starter that melted in mouth! This fantastic starter and the friendly atmosphere made me abandon my earlier made dinner plans! Dish of the day was cod served in a tomato- unknown to me but delicious! Melty Tomino with aubergine just perfectly in season followed as well as the best parmigiana to take you back with memories to nonnas kitchen😆 decided on creatingy tiramisu for dessert but also... Serata da dimenticare. Cena di lavoro con il presidente di una grossa associazione nazionale e la responsabile nazionale ufficio stampa del c.s.in. Onlus. Ordiniamo e cominciamo a cenare. Ad un certo punto la cameriera, che aveva appena servito al tavolo a fianco al nostro, si intromette nella nostra conversazione e, con molta arroganza dice la sua sul nostro argomento di discussione. Verso la fine della cena il nostro ospite fa presente che il bicchiere della birra è scheggiato. La stessa cameriera si è inalberata con la responsabile ufficio stampa che, con tono scherzoso, le chiede se ci offriva una grappa. La cameriera, a quel punto, poggia nervosamente i bicchieri sul tavolo e le dice, davanti agli altri commensali, "adesso ne parliamo subito del fatto dell'offrire le grappe" accennando al fatto che ascolta spesso le confidenze della nostra responsabile su sua figlia, davanti a due commensali che sono con lei per un importante incontro di lavoro. Non contante, sempre la stessa cameriera, raggiunge fuori dal locale uno dei due commensali per parlare non bene della responsabile ufficio stampa del C.S.IN. Onlus mettendola così in cattiva luce nei confronti di uno dei due presidenti creandole così un danno di immagine. Dopo la responsabile ufficio stampa è uscita, vedendo che la cameriera si era avvicinata ad uno dei due presidenti, per capire cosa accadeva ed è stata a sua volta aggredita nei modi sempre dalla stessa cameriera. Qualche settimana fa è capitato di trovare un capello nel tagliere del prosciutto, oggi il bicchiere scheggiato ed inizialmente non credevano neanche fosse rotto. Ringraziateci voi perchè altri avrebbero già chiamato i NAS per il capello nel prosciutto e la ASL, nonchè la guardia di finanza visto che è capitato che alcune volte lo scontrino non era quello fiscale classico.
