This place blew my expectations out of the water! After trying numerous highly-rated pizza and pasta spots in Italy, I didn't think I'd find somewhere that continues to be great yet different. The location was quaint and had a fantastic evening vibe.
The pizzas were top-notch and lived up to their Google and TripAdvisor acclaim. With a glass of Prosecco and a craft beer (Provide 2022), we had an unforgettable culinary experience. The Montanara Piccolo was small, simple yet incredibly tasty, so we couldn't resist ordering two. The Ricotta Agerolese, Ciccioli, Provola, Pepe Fried Pizza was a delightful and filling surprise, reminiscent of a filled Patura from Indian cuisine. The Diavola and Region Delle Due Sicillie pizzas were equally impressive. And the Meraviglia with its stuffed crust was a true "wow" moment – half the pizza was different from the other, and the Ricotta-filled crust was a delightful touch. All pizzas were large but perfectly sized.
Alessandra's service was outstanding. Her energy, enthusiasm, and excellent English made the experience even better. She provided great recommendations and personal attention, making her one of the best waitresses we encountered on our trip to Italy. Highly...

The dough was the perfect balance of soft, chewy, and slightly crunchy at the edges. The tomato sauce was rich, vibrant, and full of flavor. I also had a craft bionda beer from Napoli, which was refreshing and paired beautifully with the food. And to top it all off, we finished with what might be the best tiramisu I’ve ever tasted.
The staff was super friendly and helpful, service was quick, and the atmosphere was just magical. Sitting on a charming little cobblestone street in Salerno’s old town made the whole experience feel truly special.
If you're anywhere near Salerno, don’t...
Read moreWe first attempted to eat at La Smorfia on a Saturday without a reservation, however the place was absolutely full! It is very popular in Salerno and we decided to try mid-week instead at an earlier time.
We managed to get a table on a Tuesday evening. We didn’t go for any starters and opted to have two pizzas. I had the Diavola and my wife opted for the Vesuviana. We didn’t have any alcoholic drinks however there is an extensive wine and beer menu here.
The pizzas were okay, not the best we had since being in Italy, however we still recommend coming here to try them out. Price wise it’s very competitive here and the staff are...
