Ristorante Pizzeria L'Archetto dal 1974 — Restaurant in Salerno

We found this restaurant while walking hungrily through Salerno alleyways. A mom-and-pop, hole-in-the-wall kind of restaurant where we had the best Italian food during our entire trip in Southern Italy. We tried the spaghetti with mussels, and grilled fish. Simply seasoned with garlic, olive oil and herbs, the food is heavenly delicious, like it was made by your own Italian grandmother and grandfather. We also love chatting with the elderly couple managing the restaurant. They gave us yummy, homemade marinated anchovy for free.

Big bang on your tastebuds for your bucks, but the price is cheaper than the other, more pretentious restaurants in the neighborhood, but the food exceeds them all. Went twice in our short visit to Salerno.

Awesome pizzeria, place is ran by Italian couple who hold this business since 1974. This gentleman knows everything about pizzas! Had eaten approximately twenty pizzas there, thus I can recommend the place with no hesitation. Genuine Italian cuisine...
