I have eaten a lot of restaurants in my life in different countries. I ate in bad, good and very good restaurants. Moreover, I spend a lot of money each month to enjoy great meal at home in family or with best friends. Sure, I know a little bit Italia and its "Gastronomie" and what I can say is that the Bar Cafetteria 4 Cantoni was our worst experience in an italian restaurant. I ordered penne pomodoro with basil, but when the meal arrived I was unable to find the any basil... and the meal was how to say... worst than a "Pasta Box"... My wife and my son took the lasagne (bad quality and low quantity)... wo... I let you have a look on the picture of the Lasagne plate... it was very bad and it was very very salted. Concerning the pizza of my daughter, it looked like the pizza you pay 2 euros in a supermarket... What a bad experience in a such great country ! I'm very sorry to write this kind of things but I also wrote a lot of goods comments since I began as a local guide in Google and for instance last commments I wrote was for restaurants in Roma to say it was good and... very good. I gave 2 stars and even it is well paid, I don't want to be too tough and I want just to say : come on, Avanti, we are...
Read moreWe hadn't eaten since early in the day and didn't want to wait until 19h before the restaurants opened up. We were happy to see this place open at around 17h because it looks very nice. My second of a pizza Margherita also gave me the impression of being prepared much or even days earlier (frozen?) with no fresh ingredients except a couple of basil leaves added after baking. Of the 3 people on staff only our waitress was remotely friendly. The other two definitely had issues with foreigners. The only reason I gave two stars is they had a decent selection of wines by the glass. Look at the number of one star reviews before choosing this place unless you plan only...

Seated outdoors, we were kind of overwhelmed by the drilling bass music coming from the kitchen. Being Belgian myself, if I wanted this kind of music, I would go to Tomorrowland, not for dinner in an Italian city like Siena!
Back to the food…
When clearing the dishes, I told the waiter I found my tagliatelle only “okay”, after which I was told I was “one month early for the Porcini season, so now they come from the freezer”.
When asked why he didn’t tell me this when I ordered, the answer was “if I had told you, everybody would have heard and nobody would order it”…
Excuse me? What?
This is merely our...
