Even my dog wouldn’t eat this. This was, without doubt, the worst meal of our 5-week trip in Italy. The service was chaotic—our waiter seemed completely lost, with no knowledge of the menu. I asked for a beer, only to be told “we don’t have this, we don’t have that” even though everything was clearly printed. The food was absolutely inedible. We took one bite, realized it was impossible to eat, and went straight to pay. The chef—who is also the owner—asked what was wrong. We explained it was far too salty. His answer? “Pasta with pecorino Romano is always salty.” No. That’s simply not true. If you use pecorino, you don’t add salt to the pasta water. Or you balance it with pasta water to create a creamy sauce. This is basic cooking knowledge—something any beginner could learn from a simple YouTube tutorial. Instead, we paid €40 for food that went straight into the trash. Avoid this place at all costs.

I enjoyed several aspects of my visit: The location was cozy and just off the noisy main street filled with tourists. They served traditional meals from the Siena region. The prices were reasonable. The waitress was friendly and took the time to explain the menu. The atmosphere was authentic, with local people enjoying their late dinners around us.

A quiet family run trattoria. Chosen after reading the reviews. This little place lived up to the great reviews. A light smoked zucchini mousse was followed by pici with cipollina rossa and paccheri with branzino & calamari in a flavorful pomodori sauce. We had the vino Rosso di casa which was also very good. Highly recommended. Complementi.

Wow, this place is a gem! We had a variety of meals in Siena, as well as our fair share of Pici Cacio e Pepe... But as we tried various different places around Siena I remember telling my girlfriend while we ate at a different restaurant that there has to be a better Pici pasta dish than what I was eating at the time. This was it!!!

I had a dish very similar to carbonara without the egg. Just oil, cheese, and different cut of pork. Absolutely amazing! To me, there is a specific way it was cooked that just made that Pecorino cheese pop and it tasted far more genuine than any other place I had been to the whole trip. Very homemade vibe with many dishes having a slight twist to them. Spot on. Great value, great service, and make sure to top it off with the fantastic Tiramisu. You have to try this hidden gem if you are in Siena. I'll...
