I would give 10 stars if I could.||First the hotel. Wonderfully situated steps from the castle, the ferry to other Lake Garda towns and wonderful restaurants, this hotel is perfect for your visit to Sirmione and other southern Lake Garda towns as well as Verona, Valpolicella, etc. The rooms are spacious, modern, super clean and very comfortable (best bedding of our three week trip). Room was serviced perfectly every day. Our third floor room had a little balcony overseeing the buzz of the town. Very important, the windows are SOUNDPROOF, so even though you are in the middle of the historic town, you don't hear a sound when those windows/doors are shut. Full package of bathroom products. Breakfast is a sit down with menu choices at a sister cafe right around the corner from the hotel. Delicious food and professional service for the 4 breakfasts we had there. Nice change from the buffets.||The staff. Our interactions with Tanina from the start were super responsive and informative. We arranged a taxi transfer from Malcesine to the hotel through Tanina. Nicola met us in a roomy Mercedes van and helped us with our luggage right to the hotel. Nicola drove us on multiple occasions and he was so thoughtful and professional we decided to have him take us to Venice instead of our scheduled train ride. He also drove us to our wine tasting at the Zyme winery. And he took us to Verona. All of the rides were easily arranged through Tanina at a very fair price. We normally don't take a taxi so much but it was so convenient and reasonable.||In our 40 years of travel we have never met someone like Tanina. Np exaggeration. She walked us to restaurants which she recommended, each and every one of them was outstanding. She walked us to breakfast every day. She suggested and arranged Zyme winery tour (treat yourself if you are a fan of the Valpolicella region wines) when other plans fell through and when we were feeling a bit run down, she suggested/arranged a stayat Acquaria, a spa with thermal pools, massages, saunas, jacuzzies, relation rooms, etc, etc! (Huge place) It was cheap relative to our US standards and oh so wonderful. They even have a very nice cafe on premises.||Tanina and Nicole made our stay at Sirmione so wonderful. Grazie mille! Wow, what a splendid place to stay. The location is perfect in the middle of the beautiful island of Sirmione, the en-suite rooms are excellent, very clean and elegant and importantly for northern Europeans who might not be acclimatised to Italian summers, well air-conditioned. They are served by a lift so moving luggage about isn't a problem. The parking is in a secure car park about four hundred yards away on the peninsula as vehicle access is (understandably) restricted to the island but a shuttle fleet of electric carts are available to transport you and your cases should you need it. The peninsula and island are quite geared for the tourist industry, however there is a good reason for this, they are stunningly beautiful as is the lake, nevertheless the locals were wonderfully friendly and welcoming to us and were keen to ensure that the tourists are well cared for. The staff at Casa Scaligeri were the ultimate exemplars of this, their kindness and their dedication made our holiday perfect. There seemed to be nothing that was too much trouble for them, they knew the area in intimate detail and their recommendations always turned out to be delightful. Breakfast was served in a lovely restaurant just across the street where they were more than happy to cater for strange English eating habits and those breakfasts were a wonderful start to every day.
