I don't recommend this restaurant at all. The waiter asked us at the door if we wanted to eat, and received us to sit next to the wall. When we ordered, we showed the pictures of the meals to the waiter, but the meals delivered were not what we chose. Only the salad is correct, and the other meals are not only wrong but also increase the portion size , we did not eat and ask the waiter to take it back. Then the boss came and brought it again. When we told that we did not order this item, the boss forced us to pay, saying that the meal has already been served, we must pay, and we have to pay for the seat and extra service .I have never seen a restaurateur who is so harsh, rude and trying to cheat and blackmail tourists We tried to communicate with the boss , but the boss was really rude and humiliated us loudly, and then he suddenly told us that we only need to pay for the meal. The exaggeration is that when we paied the bill ,we were asked for more service charges and extra food expenses by the counter. When we tried to explain the situation to the boss, the boss hit a wall on the spot and stopped us from leaving, he told us that "You can't take the boat, you have to pay me more , give me more , give me money, I want my money...", he started to growl like crazy, made a fuss, and said he wanted to dig our wallets, which was really surprising, we wanted to call the police, but he said proudly that you would have no time to go to take the boat if you call the police .The boss is begging for money like a beggar. For our safety, I had to give all the cash in the purse. The plump lady was stay near by the entrance ,who was extremely rude and started insulting me and yelling at me . So I not only pay for all the meals but also give him the rest of the money . I just hope that I can leave safely. By the way, only eat dessert and drinks is forbidden, the boss will ask more to pay . This one star is for leaving a review, otherwise I would just give negative 4 stars .I sincerely warn everyone here, really don’t go...

DO NOT EAT HERE! If I could give 0 stars I would. To summarize, this restaurant is a complete rip off! Absolutely the worst experience we had in Sorrento. We couldn't believe this place is right by the docks! The staff was disingenuous, and sleazy, they just want too get the most money they can for the crappiest food.

My husband wanted the "baby" lobster spaghetti they said they were out of "baby" lobsters and suggested a "regular/adult" lobster and fettuccine (which was double the price, of course) we obliged and what came out was NOT an adult / regular lobster - it was a freakin baby lobster!!! If not a shrimp! -sitting on an abnormally large plate, of "home made fettuccine" (home made? Ya right what else were they lying about?!) my husband made a comment about the "baby" lobster and our waiter just laughed and said "it's the best, enjoy". Mean while, I ordered the mussels and clams tomato risotto which looked like a thick soup with a bunch of empty clam and mussels shells on top, so not much to chew on... little did I know it also came with tiny broken shells mixed in! (If you know what risotto is, imagine tiny broken shells the size of grains blending in a thick soup of rice!) of course I didn't realize the tiny broken shells until I had them lodged in my throat. I removed the top layer of whole-empty clams and mussels, and there they were more broken shells. The entire bowl was a gamble. The shards of shells felt like it was cutting through my esophagus! But what could I say...they wrote us off first with drinks and then the "large" but actually a single shrimp fettuccine, and now of course my risotto I'll say it thousands of times more....

DO...

Main waiter was from India, whose whole life story I know from him talking to the two tables near me. There were 4 tables total. He chatted most of the night to the couple in front of me. No problem there, but I couldn't get his attention to order another coke. Finally he remembered his other tables. Not me of course, the other two. After taking care of the table #2 he moved on to the 3rd table and chatted them up for a while. Still never looked in my direction. Finally as he passes me I ask for another coke. Sure he says. A few min later the other waiter brings 2 lemonchellos to the 1st table. They all chat some more, take some pictures, talk about posting them on FB. Same basic conversation with table #3. Eventually the other waiter brings my coke. I tell him no thank you, I don't want it now, I'm finished with my pizza. (Which was mediocre at best) The Indian fellow comes over and now gives me a hard time. He says I ordered it 2 min ago and he had it brought right out. It's quite likely he told the waiter I wanted it 2 min before, but I asked for it a good 15 to 20 minutes earlier, when I was less then half way through my meal. The icing on the cake and why the bad review? Because they badgerd me into taking the unopened coke. When the brought my bill I asked for the .50 in change. I might add there was the usual €2.50 surcharge and the cokes, including the one I didn't want, were €4.00. My change? They brought it to me in .05 coins. Great service at the other 3 tables. Me, nothing but a pocket full of change and an overpriced coke...

The location and setting alone make this place worth it. Stopped in for late lunch/early dinner while on my quick walking tour of Sorrento. It’s a long way down the cliff side stairs to get down to the port, but it was well worth the exercise. I had a plate of toast and olive oil to start followed by the “Calamarata alla moda del pirata Jack Sparrow”, presumably one of their signature seafood pastas. The dish was well presented and the mussels seemed fresh, but I still think it’s lacking something. Menu is long and a bit too complicated. What a great place to have a bite while you enjoy the breeze, sun, and seaside view.

We stopped by for lunch before catching the ferry back to Napoli. The location is great with beautiful views of the beach and the port. Service was attentive, at times a little bit too much as we had to ask twice to be left alone with the menu for more than a minute. Our starters, bruschetta and insalata caprese, were very tasty. For the primo, having finally been given a chance to read the menu in peace, we went along with our waiter's recommendation of seafood pasta for two. Here we quite appreciated our waiter's assistance with cleaning the grilled fish. Overall, however, I would say that we left a tad underwhelmed.

The food is not fresh and good tasting. I had fried calamari, and it was fried in old oil. Even though it is basically an ocean front restaurant, it offers no fresh seafood. They also charge a cover charge of 2.50 Euros per person and claim that all restaurants in Italy charge cover. I have not visited any other restaurant in Italy with such charge. The food is overpriced and not good. Take your money somewhere else. Orange juice at 6.50 Frozen fried calamari in old oil 18.50 The only thing that was good was the view, which is free to enjoy without visiting this worthless restaurant.
