A beautiful family run authentic Italian restaurant. Upon my visit to Sorrento I was keen to try out local authentic restaurants and this one was exactly what I was looking for. The family where very welcoming and made us feel very relaxed throughout our evening meal. One of the staff and I think she may have been the owner took her time to run us through the specials board for the evening. My Mum took the swordfish from the specials menu and said it was beautiful and I took the traditional Spaghetti Bolognese and it was beautiful too. We shared a bottle of local red wine between us and had panna cota and tiramisu for dessert. All in all the bill was extremely well priced taking into consideration the service and quality of food. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Sorrento.

I came with a Group of 4, coincidentally it was a Family Members Birthday, we asked the waiters if they would do something special and they were more than happy to do it. I absolutely loved the food! It took about 5-10 minutes for 4 dishes, the interior and exterior of the restaurant is lovely. In more detail of the food, all of it is handmade which you’d find in most restaurants in Italy but the food quality itself blew my mind away! I absolutely recommend this place to anybody coming for Lunch or Dinner. Thank you to the Staff Members, you were all phenomenal and kind to us, magnificent work.

Best food really attentive staff, very comfortable ambience and over all a great meal and actually it’s quite cheap depending on what you get but most items are cheap, BEST lemon cake I’ve ever had love the pasta as people with the bad reviews here say it’s hard. It is how it’s suppose to be. My dad and mother (both descendent Italian) would always make the pasta semi hard. It’s perfect just people have different taste. Very good tiramisu as well wish I could have tipped the servers because they were all so lovely. I rarely leave reviews but it was just too good to pass up! Grazie Taverna!

Let me preface this review by saying that this was the second time me and my wife ate at this restaurant and that I don't usually give bad reviews.

However, on our second visit i found, after chewing it, what looked like a rusty old staple from a staple gun in my pizza. I told our waiter who then took it off and showed someone, I presume this was the manager. I was expecting someone to come over and maybe apologise at the very least but nothing. I raised the issue again when our plates where taken to which I got a shrug of the shoulders "not my fault".

I find it utterly unacceptable that something like this can find its way into the base of a pizza. We had planned to have dessert, all that was required was a sorry and that would of been it, but we were just met with nonchalant replies. After this we promptly paid and went our merry way.

If anyone any the restaurant is reading this and would like to make sure it doesn't happen again and that perhaps the staff are a little bit more concerned this happened on the 20th August at 19:15 and we were talking to the gentleman...

We ordered the muscles pasta, the sea bass, and the full course rocket salad NOT a starter salad. Muscles and wine were good, pasta resembled asian more than Italian and not in a good way. Asian food soars over this pasta. First they brought a toddler sized portion clearly a starter salad as it was missing the rocket salads parmesan and olives. After correcting they brought the same sized salad back with a measly 5 olives and a finger pinch of cheese. The sea bass was enough to feed a wiener dog and was ice cold upon getting it. After telling them the fish was cold they said they could reheat it and we explained to just forget the fish we did not want re heated fish. They then forced the plate back onto our table after reheating right after we quite literally told them we did not want the fish anymore. This place is not Italian from the dishes we got and I do not recommend spending your precious...

We are Italian-American from New York. This was the ONLY bad meal we had during our 2 weeks in Italy. I made two mistakes:

  1. I let someone outside encourage me to come in, and
  2. I missed the sign in English outside that said "Family Restaurant". The meal started good. I ordered a decent glass of red wine, and a cold seafood salad (which really was excellent). My wife ordered a pasta dish with red sauce, and I ordered a pizza. My pizza tasted like something frozen that was microwaved - a thin hard crust and bad sauce. The red sauce on my wife's pasta tasted like I imagine Ragu sauce tastes like (just a guess because I would never consider buying or eating Ragu). We could not finish our meals. If I was not in a foreign country I would have refused to pay. So to recap, see my two mistakes above, and don't repeat them in any...
