Za Bar — Restaurant in Syracuse

DO NOT enter and order anything. Look at the photo of the receipt and tell me please that this is not a scam place. Nowhere at this establishment you can see the prices and menu. We walked in and they baited us with nice hello and immediately started trying to write down what we want. So ok, we stayed. We ordered 2 coffees, 1 arancini and 2 slices of pizza. The only good thing about that was the food and cofee were good. But look at the receipt. They put stuff randomly, Accordingly to a guest or a local. I thought we would pay maybe 15-20 euros. This is what we were paiyng for same quality and size portions outside of Ortigia. My coffee by the way was at least 10 minutes late. Worst experience...

Esperienza deludente: servizio lento e qualità scadente

Sono rimasto molto deluso dalla mia recente visita in questo bar. Recatomi con la mia famiglia (moglie e due bambini), ci aspettavamo un piacevole momento di relax e un buon pasto. Purtroppo, l'attesa è stata eccessivamente lunga. Dopo aver ordinato arancini per noi adulti e 2 pizzette per i bambini, abbiamo dovuto attendere ben 30 minuti prima di chiedere informazioni. Con grande disappunto, ci è stato comunicato che le pizzette sarebbero arrivate in altri 20 minuti, costringendoci ad accettare solo gli arancini per placare i bambini ormai impazienti ma i bambini delusi non li hanno voluti mangiare! Volevano le pizzette! Ma la delusione maggiore è stata la qualità del cibo. Da siciliano che vive all'estero, mi aspettavo di gustare degli arancini preparati a regola d'arte. Invece, ho trovato dei prodotti di scarsa qualità.

È un vero peccato che un locale in una città così ricca di tradizioni culinarie come Siracusa offra un servizio così scadente e un cibo di qualità così bassa ma di alto costo! Spero che questa recensione possa essere utile ad altri viaggiatori, affinché possano evitare esperienze simili. Ps: ho voluto evitare la lite con il cameriere….ma gli ho sentito dire ad alta voce che noi non volevamo più attendere altri 5 minuti perché avevamo il parcheggio della macchina che stava per scadere! 😁 sig. cameriere non erano 5 minuti ma bensì 20 che sommati con altri 30 fanno quasi un’ora di attesa per 3 arancini e 2 pizzette! Abbiamo perso tutto questo tempo solo per cercare di far mangiare i nostri bimbi che poi non sono riusciti neanche a mangiare! A me dispiace fare questo tipo di recensioni ma spero che questo vi aiuterà a migliorare!...

The kindness of strangers! We’ve had coffee at this lovely cafe several times over our two visits to Syracuse/Ortigia. Today we stopped in midway through our morning walk, oblivious to the heavy rain that was about to start. We started under the umbrellas outside and once the rain got heavy we were encouraged to come inside. They had to keep working around us to mop up the rain that came in before they closed the doors, then as soon as possible set a table up for us to sit at to wait out the storm. Way above and beyond...
