As a sophisticated diner went to over 100+ Michelin star restaurants, I do not buy what this restaurant is selling for. Lamb chops were not fresh and taste pretty gamey nothing close the the lamb from Greece and not sure how this is “to die for” as others mentioned. The raviolis with shrimp was great but the orange sauce was too intense the citrus flavor overpowered the shrimp (of course!) The server disappeared after taking our order. And then there is a young lady just show up for the first time at our table to ask for tips for the service, which is non-exist (we poured our own bottle of wine and water). I am a generous tipper but was surprised as we already paid $10 for service and she behaved like we owe her money. Which is never experienced in Taormina except the Michelin star restaurant at Belmont hotel which they delivered great service.
For 2 of us we spend 170 euro and I think I’m better off dining at any other local restaurants.
——————————————— I’m not surprised to see how the restaurant response to my comment above, which is perfectly represents the attitude and arrogant. You can sense how great the service can be and they are even asking for the tips like we owe them money.
You would expect to hear: would you like to tip the waiter for the service? But they were like: aren’t you going to leave some tips for the waiter?
The wine was $70 and food was $100 for 2 of us. Wine retail price was around $30 and the margin they are charging is much higher than other restaurants including 2 Michelin star restaurants we had in Taormina and Tuscany.
I finished the lamb chop because I paid $40 for it and it does not mean it tastes great. It’s nothing close “to die for” as I mentioned.
The price you charged is on the menu, but you failed to deliver good service and food quality. And by the way, why you are afraid of disclosing your food menu price on your website? People have to go to the restaurant physically to see the price? 🤔
You are just a mediocre...
Read moreLe Naumachie is one of the best places to eat in Taormina. Situated next to the remains of one of the most historic corners of Taormina (the Naumachia building), it is atmospheric and majestic. The restaurant’s chef offers his guests tasteful and stunning dishes, beautifully presented, equivalent to those of a Michelin * restaurant. In between each course, you are offered a (complimentary) amuse bouche, each one of them being a true state of the art! They have an excellent wine list, for every purse, starting from a fairly low price/bottle and raising up to thousands of euros/bottle, should you feel spendy 😊 (this is not to be considered as a drawback, though, since one can pick one of the value-for-money wines they offer at lower prices)! The restaurant has surely invested well and wise on their service, which was excellent -relaxed and friendly, as another client suggested- and always ready to discuss their menu options and offer analytical details about everything (including the site’s history 😊). The signora at the entrance (I believe the owner’s mother) invites you at the restaurant as if you were back home! We will surely enjoy another dinner at this fantastic restaurant, when we return to Taormina, and enjoy an even better bottle of wine (or even two), something that we weren’t able to do this time, since we had an almost 2-hour drive back to Siracusa and drinking and driving is not advisable! The price range below included a value-for-money bottle of wine, two starters and two...
Read moreHow does this place not have a Michelin star? The best meal we’ve ever had throughout all of Italy, and one of the best we’ve ever had in the world! We loved it so much that we came back two days in a row, and we’re so happy we did, they somehow managed to exceed our already high expectations the second time around! The hostess and wait staff are so attentive, warm, and professional, their hospitality and attention to detail is unmatched. They create such a friendly and lovely environment. The chef is an absolute genius, so very talented, and his takes on the dishes we had were literally out of this world (that eggplant?!? Unbelievable! We had to order it twice!). It’s all truly amazing, though (best beef tartare and arancini we’ve ever had, too). Our two dining experiences here are in the biggest highlights of our whole trip, and we can’t wait to come back in the future. Beautiful,...
