Arancini made fresh is the best arancini and Rosticceria Da Cristina has it! We ordered the eggplant and pistachio flavour, both were excellent! We’ve had lots of other arancini on this trip and found that if you aren’t waiting for your arancini (because they are making it fresh for you) then it won’t be as good as a fresh one.
Crispy on the outside, gooey and tender on the inside. In Sicily we’ve found an abundance of pistachio based foods (other nuts like hazelnut and almonds are popular too) and I would recommend trying Pistachio Arancinis.
We came early, around 10am, so there were no crowds and they were happy to let us eat, sit there and pay when we were ready. By the time we left, 1.5hr later, a large queue had formed but they were still serving with a smile and never once asked us to leave.
Btw, the pizza also looked excellent so that’s probably...
Read moreI'm sorry to say I caught no pictures here because we quite literally inhaled the food, it was so good! When you arrive you must grab a ticket number otherwise you will be waiting in line forever. Once they call your number, come prepared with your order, they are fast. We ordered multiple types of pizza (sausage and potato, tomato/basil/rocket, and salami and tomato). All of the pizza was delicious and warm when we ate it after a 15 minute walk home. I myself ordered the standard ragu arancini and was not disappointed. I had two and they were filling and delicious! I wanted to try their cipollina (famous Sicilian/Catania snack) but they were already sold out at 9 PM. We hope to be back for another quick bite to eat to snag the cipollina. Overall, would recommend and will...
Read moreFound this local delight by accident and towards the end of our stay in Taormina. The variety of street food is fantastic and tastes amazing AND is well priced for what you get, only had the Arancini which were €4 roughly for each one. Great for filling our 16 year old son either before or after dinner. We had the Ragu and Burro arancini which were the best we've had. Served hot, they were lovely and moist and my son loved the Burro one the best (cheese and ham). The pizzas and pastas looked amazing. We also tried a locally brewed beer Tauro Beer which tasted amazingly fresh with hints of lemon/hops. Service was fantastic and staff were helpful and patient with lots of tourists questions. Would highly recommend. We had our food by the counter but there us an outdoor...
