Bar Cavour — Restaurant in Turin

I would give them zero stars if I could. This place is pretentious, unprofessional, and overpriced. They didn't have our name correct for the reservation and made it seem like it was OUR fault. It took FOREVER to order anything. The service was insanely slow. Literally, my 90 year old nonna provides faster service. Also, they never once offered us another round of drinks. In the 2.5 hours we were sitting at the table for dinner, not once did anyone offer us another drink. In the case of professional etiquette, they never offered anything to the ladies first. And then, they started to clear away plates when other people at the table were STILL EATING. Extremely rude. The drinks are way over priced, and the food was just okay. Infact, I think the chef has a fear of salt because everything was bland and tasteless. Except the shrimp which were fine. But did anyone check in with us to see how we were enjoying our food? No. We couldn't even get someone's attention to ask for some salt and order more drinks. Really, it's their loss because we would have ordered more drinks but instead the bill remained low as it was. The bathroom was dirty and needed to be serviced. Needless to say, we will not be going back and will inform friends to not waste their time or money with Bar Cavour. It's an overpriced cocktail bar that's trying to emulate something from New York City but failing in epic proportions with sub par drinks, bland food, and horrible service. Two stars for Kashan the bartender, who was as efficient and friendly as a bartender could be! But he was only one man. Asking one man to mix the drinks for a houseful of guests on a busy Friday night was only the beginning of this bar’s problems. I could see that many thoughts had been put into this place - the decor, the cocktail menu, even the name, all trying to allude to the fantastic times like the roaring 20s. But alas! This place was anything but. It was as if the operation was deliberately driving this place into failure. The loud noise of empty liquor bottles tossed into a litter bin which sometimes ended up in messy glass shattering, the spills and splashes due to rushed orders and clumsiness, and on top of that, the cheesy choice of music were all accomplice in reducing this place into a second-class night club in, for the lack of a better comparison, rural Naples, if not an outright insult to its namesake. Great ambiance and drinks but food didn’t match its ratings. In fact, one would assume that because it’s part of the famous Del Cambio restaurant that the quality would pair to that. Wrong! The bar serves some sort of fusion food but the dishes are badly curated. We ordered a 24 euros pulpo dish which came with white beans. The pulpo was good but the beans were uneatable — tasteless. Honestly I think chef forgot to put salt. Then we got a steak that came with sweet potato purée. Both elements -on their own- tasted well but not made to complement each other.
