A Total Disappointment

I am extremely disappointed with my experience at this restaurant in Turin. The servers are not friendly at all and do not speak a word of English, making communication very difficult. They are not trying to understand us, even when we try to use signs…

Moreover, there are no pizzas on the menu, which is surprising for a restaurant that claims to be a pizzeria.

I ordered pasta supposedly with pistachio pesto, stracciatella, and cherry tomatoes, but I was served a dish of plain penne with industrial tomato sauce, garnished with a few crushed pistachios, and a small scoop of stracciatella. All this for the exorbitant price of €15, while other restaurants offer way less expensive pasta with a better quality.

The other pasta dish we ordered was not bad and much more generous.

We shared the seafood platter for 2, with some trepidation as those affairs can be risky. The food turned out to be great, to our delight. Also generous in portion.

The place was fairly busy on the outdoor seating area, and a group of boisterous patrons nearby took away from the peaceful ambiance we hoped for. The service was not as attentive as I expected and we wondered if our lack of Italian language was in some way responsible for that.

Tre stelle, perché cliente da anni, ieri sera mi ha deluso. In breve: " grigliata per 2 persone 40€ che abbiamo sempre preso e nella quale è compresa anche una frittura, che mi aspettavo essere la stessa di sempre si è rivelata però molto deludente. Nella grigliata mancava il calamaro menzionato nel menu', i soliti 4 gamberoni erano diventati tre, 2 pezzi di spada che molto sottili, un piccolo branzino grigliato nelle due metà il tutto super cotto insipido. I due pezzi di salmone erano l'unica cosa cucinata giusta, forse perché più spessi, ad abbellire il piatto tanti pomodorini tagliati a metà e tanta Valeriana. La chicca e stata, il fatto che sopra il pesce tra insalata e pomodorini vi erano stati buttati dei pezzi anelli e qualche gamberetto facente parte della frittura, che era stata sistemata in un cigno fatto con la carta stagnola, con un incavo dove era stata collocata...come al solito. Peccato però che invece della solita carta marroncina che assorbe molto bene l'olio ed il vapore acqueo che può essere emesso dalla stessa...sia stata collocata dentro una carta oleata che non assorbe ma bensì crea e trattiene il vapore acqueo che in sostanza ha fatto diventare molle la frittura. Abbiamo fatto presente la cosa alla cameriera che ci ha risposto "riferirò". Alla cassa dopo aver spiegato alla proprietaria il tutto si è scusata facendoci uno sconto di 3€ e dicendo che c'era tanta gente come effettivamente era.". Io penso che fare il doppio turno ai tavoli di un ristorante, dove ti danno degli orari entro i quali devi stare...non dovrebbe incidere ne pregiudicare la qualità o la quantità del cibo afferto al cliente.
