One of the best place to eat and discover new stuff about Indian food. Coming from India, it was a new discovery for me that even Tandoori Chicken can be bland. I always thought there are two food in an Indian restaurant which will always taste good, Dal tadka and Tandoori Chicken, but alas, you always learn something new. I have dined in many indian restaurant in India and abroad, but another discovery I made at Gandhi restaurant that Tandoori Chicken comes on a sizzler plate. Amazing way of butchering traditional Indian food.

We ordered in the main course chicken and lamb biryani (pictures attached), another discovery I had that you can make biryani without adding onion. I found more than a dozen raisins and not a single slice onion. I was so confused whether I have ordered a dessert or Biryani. The chicken in biryani just felt fried without any salt and spices. I have to convey this unique way of recipes to my mom, that next time make the biryani without onion and garlic, then we can even eat it in Navratri, as onion and garlic is prohibited. Amazing discovery.

I always knew that when you order biryani, rayta is complementary be it in Lucknow, Hyderabadi, Kolkata, or Chennai biryani. In this restaurant, you have to order rayta separately. They assume that you will eat biryani dry only. A new kind of Indian food, which I am not aware of.

I uncovered a new secret recipe as I went to eat the murgh or chicken curry (picture attached). While eating murgh curry, I felt I am having a tomato pasta sauce without garlic. I had always thought the chicken curry is made with onion, garlic, tomato and ginger, but it was a unique novel curry without any taste just pomedoro (tomato) paste.

If you want to feel a whole new level of Indian food, then please go to Gandhi restaurant.

The only thing which I loved was papad and free chutneys (...

All'epoca era stato eletto miglior ristorante indiano in Torino e 5° in Italia.

Nice experience overall. Well-curated location with authentic furniture, and original decorations. I wasn’t expecting it but the place is huge. Lots of tables and lot of noice consequently. The service is on point; staff friendly and fast. From the time to enter, order, wait and eat, it’s literally a matter of minutes! Nobody is arguing about food quality but there’s a but. If you expect it to be super cheap and super good, and super filling above all, well, you may end up being disappointed. For how much you pay, compared to the actual amount of food, there’s too much of a gap. Therefore, I suggest you take a look at the pre-made menus. But putting aside all of this, it’s a nice place I’d go back to...
