SOLO QUI 蒋记 — Restaurant in Turin

Walked past this place and thought I ought to give it a try. Owners are from Zhejiang and have been here a long time. Friendly service and they had a popular lunch menu. I ordered ala carte and had “Peking Duck” and 干锅花菜. For the latter, ideally they should use the organic Chinese cauliflower which incidentally you could buy from this Chinese vegetable shop in Via della Orfane. The European cauliflower they used in the dish was overcooked. The duck came with a full set of vegetables and wrappers and was not bad for the price. Just it was more basic roast duck and was a bit too dry. But if you wanted to go through the motions and enjoy pancake duck like I did it was ok. Probably should try a few more dishes before I set a verdict as the menu itself...

Il cibo è sempre stato mediocre e il servizio nulla di che, ma comunque eravamo clienti.

Ho il diritto di poter mangiare senza che mi fumino addosso quelli vicini. Vista l’ordinanza e il divieto di fumare in pubblico a Torino dovreste far rispettare le regole anziché difendere gli incivili.

Abbiamo chiesto di cambiare tavolo per spostarci dal fumo e il ragazzino scortese ha detto di no, in caso sarebbe arrivato un gruppo di quattro persone. Ottime scelte aziendali quelle di mandare via due clienti per averne quattro (forse). Eventualmente se si fosse palesato alle 21 di sera un gruppo di quattro c’era posto dentro! Ce ne siamo andati.

EDIT: caro ragazzino, chi ha parlato di divieto assoluto ? studiate la legge che probabilmente non conoscete:”non si puó fumare all'aperto a una distanza inferiore a cinque metri da altre persone” tra un tavolo e l’altro c’erano 10 cm Siete voi i responsabili a non far fumare dentro e far rispettare la legge di non fumare all’aperto nel rispetto dei 5 metri sul suolo che affittate e non possedete dove non vige il libero arbitrio, ma legge. Era tua responsabilità dire alle signorine di non fumare quando ci siamo alzati visto che non c’era nè la distanza di 5 metri nè tantomeno quella da 1 come erroneamente dici tu. Poi non ci hai detto che era prenotato… cambi le regole in gioco. Sei un bugiardo perché la sera hai detto: “ non posso darvelo perché SE poi arrivano in quattro…”

some very strange comments from people that clearly dont know real chinese food. probably some of the best food we've tasted outside of china. wife is from Hangzhou region originally and this is real home cooking from around there. so delicious. some odd additions to the menu such as Japanese and Korean but the chinese dishes are the best we've had in a long time. visited Turin to get a taste of Italy but ended up eating here twice in five days !...
