TANTU - THE WORST WAITER IN THE WORLD

I rarely write negative reviews, but my experience at Snack Bar Nostro was so shocking that I feel obligated to warn others. This place actually has great potential — the coffee, tea, and water are of very high quality, and the location could make it a pleasant stop. Unfortunately, the entire experience was completely ruined by one person: Tantu, a waiter whose behavior is beyond unprofessional and downright disgraceful.

Here’s what happened: My pregnant sister-in-law politely asked to use the toilet and explained her situation. Instead of showing even the slightest empathy, Tantu looked straight at her stomach and arrogantly said: “No, you are not pregnant,” refusing her access. His attitude was shockingly rude, offensive, and humiliating. In a place that serves the public, such behavior is unacceptable.

And that’s not all. While we were there, another woman — a complete stranger to us — used the toilet and left the café without ordering anything. Tantu actually chased her outside, shouting at her in public: “Hey! What are you doing? You can’t do that! You have to order something!” She looked terrified and embarrassed. This is not just bad service — it’s harassment.

This level of behavior from someone working in hospitality is simply unacceptable. Snack Bar Nostro could be a great spot, but as long as Tantu is employed here, the customer experience will remain toxic. Management should seriously reconsider keeping him on staff, as his actions are actively damaging the reputation of the business.

To anyone considering visiting Snack Bar Nostro: Think twice. Until the staff is properly trained — or replaced — this place cannot be recommended. High-quality drinks mean nothing when the service is this hostile and...

Absolutely disgusting service!! The waiter was displeased with my friend and I when we asked to split the bill then wouldn't listen to the amounts we were going to pay after we had calculated how much it would be based on what we had eaten. After five minutes of us trying to explain it to him even using pen and paper to calculate the bill he then stormed off and left us.

We were both unsure of how to react especially when we saw him serving other guests; after waiting a further ten minutes he finally came back to us with a card machine to take my friends payment but then tried to charge the wrong amount. He entered €12.50 rather than €12.05; after questioning him he said the '5' key doesn't work which was a blatant lie.

After a further five to ten minutes of arguing he finally gave in and charged my friend the right amount for her card then took my cash but still attempted to short change me.

I have never been so disgusted by a waiters service and am annoyed by the 12% service charge which he in no way earned. Waiters should have to work hard for their tips rather than just letting their service slip knowing that they've already got it.

First day in Venice, and at 6 months pregnant I fancied something quite filling, and we found this little restaurant. I ordered the tortellini with Ham & cream and my Husband had the 4 cheese pizza, along with a fanta and sprite.

We were the only people in the restaurant so our food came quite quickly partly because you could hear the ping of a microwave. Unfortunately you could taste and see that the pasta dish had been microwaved, It was rubbery and rock hard all at the same time. I tried to mix it into the sauce but nothing was fixing it so I didn't eat the serving. When the waiter came around We explained we were not happy with the pasta but would pay for the drinks and the pizza. He then started saying that we need to pay for the food, and he would give us 2 free drinks which we didnt want his atitude was disgusting, he started to say we had to pay because they had only done 6 covers that day.
