Gondola Ride — Attraction in Venice

We took a gondola tour and specifically asked if we would pass under the Rialto Bridge, to which the gondolier assured us we would. However, he only went nearby, saw it from a distance. While the view was still nice, we felt deceived since we had clearly requested this. He also claimed we would pass Marco Polo's house but forgot to point it out, and when asked at the end, he casually mentioned a white building we supposedly passed. There were no explanations about the surroundings, no singing, and overall, it felt like a complete scam, it was a waste of 90€. Having done gondola rides three times before, I know the kind of service other gondoliers provide, and this experience did not measure up. We asked a couple of people for prices and they seem to have a consistent price. It seems a lot but they do work hard and in the heat. Not an easy job.

We went with this location as we got to go into the grand canal and under the Ponte di Rialto. Then through the narrow canals.

Although it's somewhat expensive for 30 minutes it's a real experience to see venice from the canals. If we didn't do it we may have always regretted it. Money comes and goes, may aswell experience things. Good fun and...

Bought tickets online, not the one that states shared ride, and surprise surprise it’s a shared ride and no refunds possible. Only option is to spend 3/4 of the price additionally to have a private ride.
