Bar Venetico — Restaurant in Venice

My husband and I stopped in here on New Years Eve early in the night and had a delightful time with the owner and her sweet dog “Spritzer”. We had some glasses of wine and just visited with her. Our Italian is limited but her English was perfect and she made us feel so at home. It had the cleanest bathroom in all of Venice - but PLEASE don’t be a dirt bag and try and use it without making a purchase. Her little appetizers also looked great but we had already eaten. What a gem! Tucked away off the beaten path - great atmosphere, service, drinks and food. The bartenders were super helpful, especially since I don't speak Italian. The cicchetti (finger food apps) were excellent, so much so that we ordered a second round of the same food! Aperol spritz was mixed to perfection! There is a courtyard in the back that is quiet, warm and intimate. I also got the impression this was a place frequented by locals. It was the perfect end to our evening in Venice and I cannot recommend it...

Our favourite bar in Venice. If you are looking for a special place that is very authentic then this is certainly the place to go. We ended up here three times in our trip to Venice. The place itself has a really nice ambience, very comfy indoors and outside on its cosy terrace. The staff each time were really friendly and welcoming.
