NOOOOOOOO! -A very dishonest restaurant! - Scammer! We were party of 6, ordered few appetizers and 3 Branzino with potato and vegetables. The asked me if we like to have replacements, we told her that we will stick with the menu, without additional orders. We noticed the potatoes were served separately in the bowls but did not think much and did not pay attention to the check when paying. However, after we returned to the hotel, we thought something went wrong; we decided to go back to the restaurant the next day just to be sure! 2 of 3 servers from last night were already on the shift when we arrived. The main waiter who served the fish last night confirmed the potato and vegetable are included with the price ( we took the photos of menu this time). We then asked why were we charged for the potato *3 with our dinner last night? He rushed in to ask the other staff, assumed he is the manager who shall handle the situation. The "manager" ignored us in, did not acknowledge of situations and continued serving coffee, avoided eye contact with us. He did not review our order and receipt. he just told us to come by at 5 pm to talk to the server who took the order yesterday! “Why can’t you take care of your restaurant mistake?” “It is not right you are cheating the customers!” He further threatened us to call the police!!!! We let him know that we will be posting to the social media and let others know, so less people to be cheated by them! We left without getting our money back as we had a train to catch. (I believe this is how they think/operate as well, most tourists are not likely able to come by to get the bills correctly anyway! Why not scam them!?) Having lived in Italy for five years, I have to admit, this was the absolute worst restaurant I have ever eaten at in Italy, and possibly my life. I took some friends visiting from Germany here as they wanted to visit Venice. I expected an overpriced menu and hidden charges because most places are like this, so the prices have nothing to do with my experience. The food was absolutely DISGUSTING!! When we walked in, the first red flag was there was no aroma of food…how is that possible if you are COOKING food here? Second red flag was when our bruschetta was brought out, they served us the equivalent of a salami pizza and tried to argue me down that it was the same bruschetta I showed him a picture of. Anyhow, I ordered the spaghetti with clams and it tasted like old dirty mop water. I mean the spaghetti was atrocious, and the clams were grainy from salt/dirt, and very mushy. Who I presume to be the owner (Asian guy), asked if I liked the food and I told him no. Not another peep out of him after that and because it is Italy, I was still charged for the meal that I had four bites out of.lol The service was good but it took over an hour for our meals to be served…terrible experience. I normally don’t research restaurants I am going to eat at in Venice because I enjoy the experience of finding somewhere random-This made me rethink doing that again. Food was meh, and (somewhat) wrongly written on the menu. Example, I got the grilled octopus with potatoes, and ended up with grilled octopus over a bed of salad. (No communication about this beforehand or afterwards either.) Most of it just tasted bland and oily, and very chewy. Nothing to really write home about. We had an appetizer that I forget the name of, but it was mixed fish/seafood platter. Some of it was warm, some of it was cold- but overall I think it together with the foccia bread was the best thing out of the entire meal. For the atmosphere and service, it was alright- but there was an abundance of fruit flies, or small Nats flying around us and above our food. The servers however were atleast friendly, and tried their best to get our meals out on time and in order- but there were times where we were waiting for our food for quite awhile, or there was some miscommunication about our orders. (Like the time it would be out, etc; but you can't fully blame that on them.) Overall, it was alright. I don't think I would go again, but I think as a last resort for a meal or if I went during a different time of day as we went during the night- I think I could...
