BEDBUGS!!! I booked this hotell many moths ago. Was expecting an lovely experience. We arrived and got the top floor room with amazing view over the canal. All good. Day number 2 of 4. My stepson started to get bite marks all over his body. Yes we have photo evidence!! We immediately contacted the reception and alerted them. We got another, lover class room from what I payed for. But for now the immediate emergency was resolved. Was informed that the day after I will get an update on compensation. The day after I went down to the reception and got:" I am sorry sir but this is the first time we have experienced anything like this are you sure that you are not allergic to anything". (No we are not). The compensation I got was free breakfast for the remaining stay. €30 per day. But. I didn't book the breakfast because of one single reason. We where suppost to experience Venice culinary from breakfast to evening. This was not enough from my point of view. The management told we " let's see what we can do". But the last day we got. Nothing. The reason was: "you didnt book an refundle room". I dont care. We booked a hotell and we didnt bring the bedbugs to the hotell. Soneone has to take responsibility!!!!!! We went to Venice to celebrate my stepsons 20th birthday. We got unfortunately an not service minded hotell that ruined the stay!!! We stayed in Room...
Read moreWe recently stayed at the Arlecchino for one night prior to a cruise. From the day we booked the hotel until checkout, everything went perfectly and we can't say enough nice things about the staff. Shortly after booking, we were contacted about the transfer from Marco Polo airport. When I mentioned we had friends staying in another room, they suggested combining into one van vs two cars saving us 40 euros. (Thanks)!
Our driver was friendly and explained a lot during the drive (like how to get to the port the next day, how to navigate the water taxis, etc.). He then helped us with our bags from Piazzale Roma to the hotel.
During our stay, we asked the front desk about help getting to the People Mover at Piazza Roma: Perhaps a porter who charges per bag. After we mentioned the number of bags, she proposed another option: The same driver (Roberto) could take all of us directly to the port (instead of the people mover where'd we still have to pay, carry the bags, walk) for only about 20 Euros more. DEAL!
Oh, by the way, the hotel is great, not just the people. Clean, comfortable, perfect location. Exactly what you'd expect in Venice....
Read moreExcellent choice in Venice, especially for mobility-limited travellers My 91 year old mom desired to revisit Venice, after her first trip there 65 years ago. I took on this challenge with trepidation, but Hotel Arlecchino came to the rescue. Hotel Arlecchino's location in Piazzale Roma was central to all transport---train, bus, taxi, vaporettos, and the People Mover from Tronchetto cruise/bus terminal, so my mom did the minimal amount of walking while enjoying all of the key attractions that Venice has to offer. The hotel's staff were responsive and respectful, especially Irina who helped us to cancel one room after an accidental emergency, while housekeeping also did its part dutifully cleaning our room daily and restocking free water bottles. The room was comfortable old-world, and the bathroom covered in marble. The breakfast was superb and of great value. The hotel's elevator enabled easy access to our third floor room, with views of canals, bridges, and Venetian life. While nothing in Venice comes cheap, Hotel Arlecchino certainly delivered great value...
