Dear Hostaria Venexiana (Owner), I saw your reply about Klaudia Mrázová’s review(a year ago). I hope you can report about today’s situation.
I am writing to express my disappointment with the service my family and I received at your restaurant, Histaria Venexiana Venezia, during our recent visit.
We ordered a waitress-recommended wine (€50), sparkling water, and four dishes. Initially, we were in high spirits, but our experience soon turned sour. The waitress informed us that we would need to wait 20 minutes for our food because of the risotto, which was understandable. However, we had to request bread basket second times , which was finally brought to us.
When ordering, I specifically pointed to the menu item, Pizza Quattro Stagioni, but after 20 minutes, Pizza Quattro Formaggi was served instead. When I informed the waitress of the mistake, she insisted that it was delicious and claimed she had never made a mistake in her 19 years of service. She did not apologize.
My son ordered spaghetti with meatballs, but spaghetti with ragu was delivered. When we pointed out the error, the waitress again did not apologize and claimed we had ordered it. Additionally, the Spaghetti alle Vongole noodles were undercooked, and the replacement pizza was both undercooked and burnt.
Upon receiving the bill, I noticed we were charged for the Quattro Formaggi pizza, which we did not order or eat. When I questioned the waitress, she told me to "just pay and never come back," and claimed to be the manager. She even packed the mistaken pizza for us despite our dissatisfaction. Her name was "Deri" or "Deer," though she seemed unsure of the spelling.
I was deeply disappointed and started recording the interaction due to her rude behavior. We paid €139.50 for a terrible experience, and I feel an apology and a refund are warranted.
I have photos and video evidence to support my complaint and would appreciate a prompt response to resolve...
Read moreWe stumbled across this place looking for an outside drink. The host, Ava, was so charming that we stopped inside for food. We were not disappointed! Waiting inside was a warm, friendly atmosphere, with delicious food. We polished off a bottle or two of red wine, ate our food and joked with our charismatic host. We loved it so much that we returned for my partner's 40th birthday two nights later! This time, we were looked after by our friend Ava and another absolute gem, Dori. They were both so sweet to us, being especially attentive to the birthday girl!
The bread they serve is soft, warm and so delicious that we needed two refills! The food on offer is fairly typical of other places Venice and is beautiful. I ordered the meat and cheese platter both times as I can never get enough and eating it took me to my happy place. I had three types of meat and two cheeses, one a soft blue and the other a hard type. Delicious. I recommend the sardines which are tasty. My partner swears that they're the best she's ever had, which is big praise coming from a Greek! The wine is fairly priced. We went for the classic Chianti which was around 30 euro a bottle and they serve smaller bottles as well. This wine is yummy, silky smooth and somewhat magical as it left us with no hangover. I love Italian wine!
All in all, I love this little gem and will certainly be back whenever I return to Venice. Thank you to Ava, Dori and Baby Tina, for making our visit to Venice...
Read moreDuring our recent trip to Venice, we stumbled upon hostaria Venetians and what a find it was! Nestled in one of the charming alleys of the city, this place offered everything we were hoping for and more.
The food was nothing short of extraordinary. Every dish was a perfect blend of flavors, showcasing the freshness and quality of the ingredients. From the seafood pasta to the classic tiramisu, each bite was a celebration of authentic Italian cuisine. It's clear that the chefs here have a deep passion for their craft, as the food truly speaks for itself.
However, what made our experience even more memorable was the service. Our waitress, Eva, was an absolute delight. She welcomed us with a warm smile and took the time to make sure we were comfortable and well taken care of throughout the meal. Eva’s friendly and approachable nature added a personal touch to our dining experience. Her recommendations were spot-on, and she made us feel like cherished guests rather than just customers.
Overall, hosaria venexiana is a gem in Venice that I would highly recommend to anyone visiting the city. With its delicious food, warm atmosphere, and exceptional service—thanks to Eva—it's a place we will remember fondly and hope to return to soon. If you’re looking for an authentic Venetian dining experience, this...
